I would only trade Brown for Kat or Giannis, and that is about it straight up. Problem is we would still have the same salary cap issues, so might as well just sign him to the max and keep him ourselves. I doubt those two would ever be available anyway. Getting a package of players and picks, would probably be the best way to go, but I would have to be blown away with the return. That is why I chose to keep him. We need to find a player that can start for Horford, but not at the expense of our top 8. I think we need to go back to the 2 big lineups. That seems to be when we play are best, so I listed my roster showing that.

Starters: Smart, Brown, Tatum, (trade), RWIII
2nd unit: White, Brogdon, Hauser, Horford, Kabengele (signed to regular contract)
deep bench: Davison (signed to regular contract), Gallo (trade him at deadline if he is toast), Muscala,

1) I sign and trade Grant and add a 1st round pick for a big that can start for Horford. Doesn't have to be a all-star, just our 2nd best big alongside RWIII. He does need to be in the same age bracket at RWIII. (23-27) Maybe Wendell Carter Jr or Kyle Kuzma.
2) I package Pritchard and Kornet for a 2nd unit SG/SF.
3) I release Blake. (Replace him with Kabengele)
4) I put Champagnie, our 2nd round pick, Begarin, Madar, and anyone else looking for a roster spot to summer league. Whoever shows out best gets the 15th roster spot, the rest are offered a 2-way a spot in Maine.

Looks Good. -- Though, I would likely keep Grant & Griffin.
I would love to see Kabengele improve; just don't know if he's NBA caliber?

Good question, bad timing. Right now I only want to retain 2 players. It's too early. We lost to the 8th seed because they didn't step up and underperformed.

Not sure I really understand the premise. Out of those 10 players, if we only had to retain 8, then cleeeeeeeeeeeeearly Hauser and Gallo are the 2 to leave out. Easily the worst 2 players there. But letting them go really gets you nothing. Hauser's value is insignificant and Gallo would be valued negatively.

I want to trade Smart for a wing shooter, so would I leave him off and put Hauser in my top 8? But to use that to say I value Hauser more than Smart would be disingenuous because I value Smart waaaaaaaay more, just want to use that value in a trade.

Too many votes, if you wanted the group's "top 8" probably better to limit the votes to less than 8 to better see the ranking people are employing since we don't rank the votes

Example, maybe Horford makes most folks cut but as 7-8th pick whereas a more polarizing player, say Brown, makes top 3-4 for those who vote for him or is left entirely off other ballots.

Which is considered more vital going forward? The player considered top 3 by 75% or player considered 7-8 by 90%?

When you have 8 votes no good purchase on the ranking involved in those type of decisions from voter to voter

You could then do a 2nd poll removing some of the consensus "winners" from the 1st poll to drill down the roster depth

Weird, I somehow happened to do the same thing. Must be some sort of quantum superposition thing.

Yeah. Unfortunately, we can only have up to 10 Options, and only up to 10 Votes.

Yes. I plan on doing 3 Polls, to cover all 20 Off-season Players.

I think this might illustrate why it’s more interesting/efficient to focus on what changes we propose — ie trades — to try to improve the roster.

With guaranteed contracts, the assumption is that almost all of our rotation is back.
