Would you have traded Smart or Brown first?

After another disappointing post-season and seeing Brad has been open to break "the core", I'd like to hear the board's take on this.

Personally, I'm already weirdly getting used to the idea of losing Smart and gaining Porzingis and that it could be for the better, but if I want change in this team I would have traded Brown before I get rid of Smart.

Come on. Its a stars league and we're talking about a star vs a role player. I like Smart overall as a good role player but not as a number 3. Talent wise he was nowhere near Jaylen.

I appreciate the love for Smart, but c'mon, Brown makes this team so much better than Smart did.

This unrequited love for a delusional scrub who thought he was better than he actually was is irrational...

So I see most comments point in that direction: you prefer trading Smart? Ok, no one is saying he's more talented. It's just a question.

So...if we don't pick Brown and give our logic as to why we would keep Brown over Smart thats beyond the discussion? Got it.

Ideally neither but to get Porzingas and a couple picks for Smart is a great trade.

There really isn’t a comparison to Brown though. He’s an all NBA player at the beginning of his Prime. You wouldn’t trade him for Porzingas.

He resonated with a lot of the fans, but in the end was the heart and soul of a team with no heart and soul...

I would have traded Brown before Smart. Just wait-- you'll see come 2024 playoff time.

Well trades are hard because they don't happen in a vacuum.

It depends on what you get in return.

Both Jaylen Brown and Smart would thrive next to a Ja Morant just as they did next to an IT.

If you mean which player would I lose on my team for nothing... obviously it's the guy who never has and never will come close to being an all-star in Smart.

Try posting here the last 6 years before the trade.

Boy are people changing their tune in 4 days time suddenly about Smart lol.

If you posted that, you would legit have been banned from this forum or at least gotten 8 personal attacks in the thread lol.

Brown is our 2nd option so I obviously trade Smart before I trade him.

I love Smart, so based on that, JB. If I took my heart out of it... I can't.

Didn't want to trade either but it was probably time for a shake-up. I was open to it being JB because it's all people talk about, but I didn't really believe it would be Smart honestly. I'm still in shock, even though I know that was a haul for Smart (others).

Anyway, JB is still here, going to ride with Cs.
