Always hear this "Boston best player in the finals" line. That doesnt mean he had a great series. It just means Tatum struggled shooting.

Dumbest signing in NBA history. Richest contract in NBA for a 3rd option who can't dribble or create shots.
Celtics franchise has just died.

The heat's really on Brad because if we don't win the title in 2023-24 season our window is shut.

This kind of franchise-altering decision can't be made by an employee against the wishes of the owners. Brad may still be the fuse to replace if time shows that this was a mistake, though.

I love it let's go...will be interesting to see how many Tatum haters there are when his contract is next and in four years we will have two stars locked up and others contracts will be higher... Jays up haters down. In fact go ahead and leave the Celtics fandom you won't be missed

Who tf is ryan in Maine?
You know, thinking about the smax it seems like it really forces you to trust your team/bench. Player development will be all the more important going forward.

Brad put his faith in the three Jays -- JT, JB, Joe. I put my faith in Brad. That's the best I can do at the moment lol.

I think we can all agree Tatum is a top 5 player in the league.
The 2022 NBA finals was the biggest stage, the highest stakes, the most pressure that either of them had ever faced. And we were facing a Dynasty - best shooter ever, possibly the 2 best shooters ever, arguably a top 10 player of all time, one of the best defenders of all time. A group of players (and coach) who had already won 3 rings together and were Hungry AF to prove they could win another one without KD. Tied for the best defense in the league.
That was the situation and JB was simply better than Tatum that series.
Try and spin it however you want, but everything I just said are facts.
Also, we wouldn't have made it to the NBA finals without JB.

This was a really bad post the first time you made it. No point in posting word for word, the exact same post in 2 different threads.

Four Jays if you count Scrubb.

Scrubb got the sweetest gig in the joint. Won't get blamed when things go sideways.

This version of the Celtics has 2 years to prove itself then all bets are off. Relax. Big 3 all locked up JT, JB and Porzingis. I bet Derrick White will soon be locked up too.

The overreactions on both sides are pretty hilarious. No, Brad did not just kill the franchise. And no, this won't look like peanuts in a few years.

I like Jaylen, but Like I said - that just means Tatum disappointed (21ppg on 36% shooting)
It doesn't then mean Jaylen had a great series (23ppg on 43% shooting).
Jaylen shot 5/18 for 18 pts in game 5 with 5 turnovers.
Jaylen shot 5/17 for 17 pts in game 2.
And Tatum was the best player in rounds 1-3. Thats not worth arguing.

OK, the Jaylen Brown watch is over. Brad has locked up Brown and Porzingis, Tatum will get his when the time comes, and White for 2 more years and RW3 for 3 more. That's our starting 5 locked in. Now I figure Brad will focus on trying to fill out the bench this off season while he can.
Brogdon, Banton, Pritchard, Hauser, Walsh, Brissette, Horford and Kornet make 13. Even if Brad leaves a roster spot open, he will still need to add one more player. I hope it to be a big, because I don't have much faith in Kornet, and think we need more insurance behind RW#, Porzingis and Horford.
I think it will be another bench big because I don't expect Brogdon, Hauser or Pritchard to be traded. Banton, Walsh and Brissette are all in their 1st year with the club, so I don't see any of them going anywhere.

I mean, I guess I see his point. He's trying to say that JB didn't have a great series vs the warriors.
Which is true.
But my point (that on the biggest stage, with the most pressure these guys have ever faced in their lives, facing a dynasty team that was tied for the #1 defense in the league - JB was better than Tatum) is still valid.
We both said true things. It's just a matter of how you want to look at it..
