Thread #12 was a leisurely stroll. Let's see if we can pick up the pace and get to #15 before the trade deadline.

I'll start: FREE ALEC BURKS!!!

I definitely like BURKS.. But I do wonder even if he gets bought out. Would Boston be his top choice.. I mean yes he has a connection with ta

Tatum.. But I would imagine other contenders can offer him more time..

One name I was reluctant to include but have seen before was Lonnie Walker. Having watched him during his Spurs days, he was such a freak athlete but extremely low basketball IQ. Looks like he's somewhat improved but his defense is still poor. His shooting has always been streaky but a guy who can get you buckets in short stints when he's hot. Very injury-prone as well. His contract is nothing so would be easy to match his salary. Might be worth a couple of 2nds :P

How about Wendel Carter Jr?
Prichard and Horford?
Can the Celtics actually move Horford?

I would assume Boston would need to attach quite a few first round picks..

Great trade for the future but I think it sets us back this season. I think Horford is huge for this team right here right now.

Cs not trading Al.

He's part of why the Cs are great this season.

Cs not trading Al.

He's part of why the Cs are great this season.

Anyone tries to trade Al and they’re gonna have me to answer to…

Spoiler:
Which isn’t particularly scary at all, I might whine at you a lot or be annoying for awhile lol.

I must see Al get his ring with us, however long it takes.

Horford is our 6th Starter. No need to Rock the Boat at this point, so to speak.
He also brings Maturity, a bit of Passion, and tons of Class to the Team.

Steve Kerr sees similarities between TJD and Andrew Bogut's game - via X.

we need a self creator off the bench.

When the shots dont fall we need a guy who can beat people off the dribble and attack that is not named jaylen or jaysaon

Not that I really disagree but are we saying Horford is untouchable? Do we have to take him off the table for trade discussions?

Horford isn't untouchable but he should be for someone like Wendell Carter.

If not completely, I guess the next interesting exercise would be to come up with trades you would pull the trigger on. The more realistic the better.

Thinking you might have to start with a multi team that includes Golden State (for need and to get him to a contender)

My guess, and how I would do it, is that the Cs are not shopping Horford. If something came up that made the Celtics stronger this year then maybe they listen.
His value to this team is huge. Yeah they are still good without him, but he brings some toughness, accountability, and defensive culture.
If we traded him we want to somehow get that in return along with good player that can start at the C, come off the bench, and be a legit sixth man. I am not coming up with anyone.
Do have some thoughts with Golden State?

I don't think this is about who's untouchable or not.

This is about not ruining something great.

The Cs are great right now.

Why mess up the chemistry with a major trade?

People severely underestimate Al Horford’s value to the Celtics. Horford is not going anywhere unless a stud is coming back to the Celtics. Don’t see it happening

Also, Wendell Carter Jr is always injured

its just a thought exercise.

Im having trouble finding a target that wouldnt involve heavy draft compensation (like JJJ if Memphis decided to blow it up -longshot, I know).
