JT played 43 minutes and only 15 FG attempts.

This is maturity.

Great display by JT but why the hell play him 43 minutes when OG and Randle are not playing?
Too many minutes IMO

I never understood the urge to micro manage a player's minutes in a single game. What matters is the overall workload. Tatum is averaging 35.9 minutes which is 1 fewer than last year and exactly what he averaged under Udoka (and Stevens' last season for that matter) with a lower usage than any of those seasons so it has actually been years since he had such a small workload.

Besides he's literally just coming off the all star break and the Celtics only play one game from now until next friday. If ever there was a game where his minutes could be safely ramped up, this was it.

When you see that game, you wonder how Dallas couldn't make Luka/Porzingis/Brunson work.

The worst was the charge he took where the replay showed after contact he leapt backeard off both feet. You could clearly see the spring and wind up in his ankles, and where he catapulted himself backward. This is something he must work on in practice. Disgusting brand of basketball. :nonono:

KP getting too much love in this thread votes-wise compared to the narratives in the game thread lol. Went with JB and team (because I couldn’t decide) but would go with Tatum if I had to choose a second single player

Brunson pushes off on every play and we get called for a foul. Meanwhile knicks hack and hold and no calls. Holiday backs brunson down and gets called for offensive while brunson does the same and we get called foul. Unre

Combination of luck, bad coaching, and Luka perhaps not being that easy to play with because he absolutely has to, 100%, all the time, get his.

They were all super young. Luka was 20, KP was 24, and Brunson 23. Justin Jackson played 1000+ minutes for them, more than Brunson.

It’s 100% Luka. Only way he’ll be a real threat in his career IMO is if he:

a) learns to share it around more and make it less about him (and I don’t mean share it around in the sense of him getting an assist, I mean usage); and
b) consistently try harder when defending

Otherwise good players will not want to play with someone where they can’t participate much AND have to cover for on the defensive end.
