Just for fun.
Of course this only applies if the Celtics win the chip.

Tatum’s going to average 32/11/7 on his way to Finals MVP & the media will still find a way to discredit him.
Book it.

A really odd and poor choice jinx thread. Let's win it first then vote.

That makes absolutely no sense

I don't believe in jinx.
And I clearly said this only applies if the Cs win the championship.
We can't have a poll after the Cs win the chip because 10 minutes after the final buzzer sounds, we will know who gets the award.
Not enough time for voting.

If the Celtics win it will be Jayson Tatum because if Jayson Tatum doesn't play at a very high level like the Pacers series then the Celtics won't win.
I thought it was appropriate for JB to win the ECF MVP even though Jayson Tatum played great. The vote was 5 for Brown and 4 for Tatum. Celtics win the NBA Finals then Jayson Tatum will be rewarded.

He was carried by his all-star team (who are also all overrated)

Voting ends before Game 1 starts.

If they win, all five starters are capable of playing well enough across a series to win it. But Tatum or Brown are obviously the most likely options

I'm surprised that JB is not getting more votes.

I thought that JB would be in the running.
That's who I picked.

Yeah, I'm really surprised too!
I'm not a big JB fan, but this has been his best playoffs so far.

If White is anywhere close to winning series MVP they will crush this series.

1. If the Celtics win but Luka puts up silly stats (which is likely), expect at least some media trolls to suggest he should win it.
2. FMVP usually just defaults to the winning team's best player -- exceptions: Tony Parker and Kawhi in SA at the time, maybe Dumars in '89 (analogous to Jaylen now?); only FMVP I remember being actually *surprised by* was Iggy.
3. I don't care at all about this. Not to trigger the Good Doctor, but KG vs PP in '08 was a toss-up in my mind and that illustrates how little I (or I think anyone) cares, because do you really care?

This is a strange series becasue the favorite doesn't have the guy most people consider the best player. I think that sort of series leaves open the door for players who aren't the best player on the winning team. Like if Brown or Jrue manage to have ANY success slowing down Doncic that will get them a lot of momentum.
I'd still bet on it being Tatum assuming the Celtics win, but I also think Jrue and Brown are very possible depending on how the series plays out.
Especially becasue for some really strange reaosn the national media seems determined to never give Tatum any credit.

I don't care if Doris' dog will win it as long as we win it all

Celtics will probably win 4-1 and the voters will give the NBA Finals MVP to Luka.
