Watched him in the tournament because I was looking at their center Ryan Kalkbrenner, for us. Baylor stood out as a really good player.
I like the pick. I felt someone would have taken him in the 18-25 range. Baylor is a good all around player. sneaky good rebounder. Good passer. Great shooter. Welcome to Boston, Baylor!!

I think Baylor has the potential to become something like what people expected Doug McDermott to become. Or something. He is more well rounded than Hauser on offense, my understanding is that he is more limited athletically, but his rebounding prowess and his ability to rack up some steals without fouling, is likely a testament to his ability to overcome limitations via instincts and IQ. I really think that people undermine this kid's potential by comparing him to Hauser, and I don't mean that as an insult to Hauser who I think makes a perfect role player for a championship team like ours.
A really great value pick, just makes me feel a little uncomfortable cause if he works out, what do we do? I think Hauser is a perfect fit alongside the Jays, and I don't really want to start calling for Jaylen to be traded, either.

I am a believer in Scheierman and this is a great fit. It seems like it might have been between him and Duke center Kyle Filipowski. When you have a primary domino like Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown, Scheierman will be able to play off them and create for them. Plus he can shoot and rebound. (Adam Finkelstein)

With fluid hips, Scheierman’s mobility stands out. That’s a crucial aspect of his role as a connecting piece, helping him to get to his spots effectively. He combines his upper-body strength with his positioning, leading to him being one of the best rebounding wings in college basketball. As a result, he led his conference in total defensive rebounds for three consecutive seasons.
Scheierman is a good athlete, especially in terms of his speed and quickness. He doesn’t stand out vertically, but his value to an NBA team is in his ground coverage, work rate, and quickness laterally. His mobility helps him in his reactionary speed, opening a pathway to be a multipositional defender in the NBA.
Offense
As mentioned in the introduction, Scheierman’s role evolved to him being the connecting wing for Creighton. However, at a usage rate of over 25% and production, the numbers suggest him being a leading scorer, which is not the case in terms of his role. His biggest value for an NBA team is his connective passing, not his shooting. What made Scheierman come back to school after his first year there was to develop his total package, and to not heavily rely on his three-point shooting, which was then his biggest unique selling point.

He has a lot of legendary chris mullen in his game.. It's not.
Just shooting But so many ways he can get himself going with subtleties.. I have always believed there are some things you cannot measure.. Confidence and feel for the game... Decision-making. And a good feel for the game..
I also believe he compliments.Our star players beautifully.. And perhaps.
Better than sam hauser can re create out of fast close outs..

It often works out when the good teams picking late avoid the high risk high reward lottery tickets and instead take the more polished older player. Does he have the highest ceiling, probably not. Can he contribute to this current run? Maybe.

So does this mean that Hauser might not be extended? I wonder if Brad and company are trying to save some money here. Pick up Sam’s cheap option this year and let him hit free agency next year with Scheierman taking over his spot.

The "star treatment" were the boos?
I have no idea who this guy is. Going by the grades the pick is receiving by experts, he looks good. (Then again, experts also picked Dallas to win the Finals, so...)

Whether it's money and a pick or just second round picks I wish we can trade up and target one of the better players.. I still believe there are quite a few really good gems waiting for us in round 2..

Wouldn’t surprise me if Baylor backed up Tatum at the 4 spot given his size and that he rebounds very well.
I also think the Celtics resign or extend everyone Hauser,
White, Kornet and Tillman unless they get ridiculous offers. Stevens can move players next offseason when it becomes a big issue. This way he can acquire assets.

Yes! Mullen was the player that he reminds me of the most. Mainly both are lefty shooters that can really shoot and have an all around game.
One of the things that stood out to me about Baylor's game when watching him in the tournament, he didn't shy away from the big moments. When the game was close, he wanted the shot. I love players like that.
