Has Sam been given the title of top assistant? Van Gundy left for the Clippers to avoid stepping on anyone's toes in Boston, so whats going on?

Sam Cassell has long deserved an NBA Coaching job.
Too bad it can't be with the Celtics, right now.

Sam Cassell deserves a NBA head coaching job but the Celtics are in great shape right now with Joe Mazzulla.

Do people actually think that Sam has no influence over the Celtics and their game plans? Do you think he's just here to yell out words of encouragement from the sidelines? I'd give him more credit than that. I think he's being considered for these head coaching gigs because of the success he's had here and at his previous stops. IINM he's been under more known successful coaches in the past. This stop has proven that he's an incredible coach in his own right! I just hope that if he does take the Florida job, he doesn't leave us before the playoffs like Stoudamire did.

I like Joe and I think he listens to the smart people around him. I think Brad is the same way. We won a championship last year and this played a big part in it. Just because they don't think our ideas are smart doesn't make them wrong. I think it's more likely we're wrong. Following up a chip with a 39-16 record kind of proves that.
We won it for Al!!!
