Celts Swat Pesky Insects! Victory Cigar vs CHA 11/1

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Sat Nov 2, 2024 1:28 am

Hey cool you guys we survived the hive and won the big game yippee!

Sorry good pals, I'm not feeling well tonight and missed parts of the game so I'll leave the discussion to you. That was a pretty weird ending with all the Hornets getting ejected haha.

Hornets again tomorrow, Go C's!

Hornets were on a roll then the Cs decided to hunt Melo every chance they get, in the 2nd half.

It disrupted the Hornets' flow.

Even though we won, I didn't like the way we let them score 42 points just in the 2Q.

Really disappointed with Grant. He’s not one of us anymore. Tatum is supposed to be your friend? And you do that?? Get outta here man

I am voting for....... wait for it........ Joe Mazz!!!

Loved he gave JW a good look in the first and even some in the 4th quarter.. That's how a player can Grow... Even more so for Queta, he is still is Raw overall, but clearly has some upside.

But the Cherry on top of that was Joe's best ever "Tech".. couldn't have picked a better time for that.

Grant Williams is just Stupid.
The Hornets got a Flagrant Two, Another Ejection, A different Flagrant One. -- And a bunch of Techs.

Nice to see Walsh get some meaningful minutes even with Hauser back. Second good game in a row for Queta. Celtics really clamped down after Mazzulla got his tech.

Boston getting 7 free throws on the same possession was funny. Must be close to the record.

Let's get another win tomorrow.

I think Queta did fantastic.
I'm voting him for the Consolation Prize.

Tatum played like League MVP. JB played like an All-Star. Queta was great in 24 minutes. Hauser had a good game, and Jordan Walsh went 2-3 from 3.

An alternative view:

Pts. + Rebounds + 0.5x Assists + Steals + 0.5x Blocks - Missed Field Goals - 0.5x Missed Free Throws - Turnovers - 0.5x Fouls

+33.5 Jayson Tatum 36 minutes

+21 Jaylen Brown 37 minutes

+15.5 Neemias Queta 24 minutes

+12 Jrue Holiday 32 minutes
+11 Derrick White 35 minutes
+10.5 Luke Kornet 24 minutes
+10 Sam Hauser 18 minutes

+7 Payton Pritchard 28 minutes
+5 Jordan Walsh 6 minutes

Team Total = 125.5

Bad shooting night from PP, who becomes the first Celtic off the bench to have 5 steals and 0 fouls in a game (data going back to 1984-85).

Not just for Queta but for any player, especially a young one, a longer stretch of play is usually far more beneficial to getting a feel and a Groove.

Oh Man. Smooth. Queta is just a Smooth-minded player.
I can see him working his way up to being a Starter.

Just don’t like his non existent rim protection. He is getting attacked inside and jumping on all fakes.

Queta just gives the Cs more power on both ends of the floor.

On defense, it's hard to shoot over him because of his length.

And he will score inside the paint if given the opportunity, something that Kornet is lacking.
