Celts Sleep Through Basketball Game, Magically Still Win! NBA Cup Victory Cigar vs WAS 11/22

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Sat Nov 23, 2024 2:36 am

Hey cool you guys we defeated the mighty Wizards and won the big game!

Jaylen Brown baby! And great game from Luke Kornet! Sam and X too. Jrue was solid and Jayson and Derrick hit some big shots in the 4th. And we didn't lose! That would have been way worse than winning imo.

Wolves Sunday, Go C's!

If there was ever a game to have an AOS for a win, this is it. Season low against the worst defense since 1996 = AOS. Sorry but not sorry
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Ugly win. Hope they play better next game. The Js a combined 3 for 23 from 3 point land. Can you take it to the basket or take 2s .

Voted for JB. Abysmal shooting from our top 3 guys. 31 pts on 27 shots is not something to be proud about, but it got the job done I guess. Tatum just shot way worse but with a near trip dub? JB took almost a third of the team's shots, more considering he went to the line. Impressive work. Can we go back to moving/sharing the ball please? If this wasn't the Wizards, we would've been blown out.

Tape already burned.

Shout-out to Tillman (and to Joe for using him).

EDIT: CP to Jrue. Low-key good game from him. Efficient 16 pts on 6 **** shots lol + 5 stocks.

That worked out better in point differential than I was expecting.

This one was a nail biter. Got some good bounces, some good rebounds. Jaylen Brown made quite a few TOUGH but timely shots, just like LAST GAME. Tatum was off (6-19), but Holiday, Hauser, Kornet and Pritch were all playing well enough, at both ends, to close this one out. Queta was tough against the BANGER Valanciunas. Queta was lucky to keep his teeth after that smack by Valanciunas. Poole, Kuzma and Brogdan kept Washington in this one till the final minute.

An Alternative View:

Pts. + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed Field Goals - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+23 Jaylen Brown 37 minutes

+19 Jrue Holiday 29 minutes
+15 Sam Hauser 22 minutes

+13 Jayson Tatum 37 minutes
+12 Luke Kornet 24 minutes
+9.5 Payton Pritchard 23 minutes

+5 Neemias Queta 18 minutes
+5 Derrick White 36 minutes

+0.5 Jordan Walsh 5 minutes
+0.5 Xavier Tillman 9 minutes

Massive peaks and valleys for Tatum this year so far, who’s becoming the master of edging triple doubles. JB consistently inefficient.

Walsh was +5 in 5 minutes. Since he wasn’t a choice in the poll I voted Jaylen.

Automatic loss against any other team. Took more than a 2/3 of the team's FGAs.

Well, today you are a harsh critic. Maybe you're right, but I'm still looking at the glass half full, glad six Celtics played REALLY well to get a win, and have noticed Washington has had their moments this season so I'm not surprised by the occasional close game.

No one buries King Kornet: So many of you were wrong on Queta...

The Wiz need to fire their Draft Staff and retool with management from OKC, Houston, Orlando, GS...

Best thing to come out of the game was a re-juvenated Hauser.

Worst: Mazzulla over-used struggling starters, seemingly hung over, when Hauser and PP could have played more.

The best Celtic tonight was JD Davison (36 points, 11 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks with Maine) and he didn't even play in this game.

LMAO we're somehow the top seed now in our NBA Cup group. Hawks with a point differential of -1 vs. our +14.

EDIT: My bad. I think it's head-to-head as 1st tiebreaker. So Hawks need to lose against the Cavs and Celtics to win against the Bulls to win the group.

Davison was great tonight. I don't know if he'll make it, but some NBA team is going to give him a chance.

We'll have to get used to this.

There will be more games like this.

The Wizards top decision maker is Presti's former top assistant but you have to give him more an handful of months to sort out the mess he inherited.
