Omg this is amazing you guys we won the big game can you even believe it??
Jaylen Brown! Kristaps and Derrick! Sam Hauser and Luke Kornet! Payton Pritchard with the dagger!
Scal said the Pistons don't play hard, so of course they played really hard and gave us trouble lol. Celts took their best shot and just kept whooping that ass for most of the game to build a lead, but the Pistons went on a run in the 4th and we had to really fight back in the end. C's made some big plays down the stretch and came away with the win. Yay!
Bucks Friday, Go C's!

Every game the Cs win without Tatum is a gift.
18-4, what's not to like?

Lots of good candidates for VC and CP. JB had a very strong 1st half but meh 2nd half. Hauser came alive esp in the 3rd. PP was clutch in the 4th. KP was reliable all throughout the game. Horford and White were solid.
No JT, no problemo. Cs have now won 8 of 9 without him since last season. On to a tough B2B this weekend -- surging Bucks + Grizzlies who have quietly played well despite injuries.
EDIT: We've been using double bigs more since KP came back. I think it's hurt our 3-pt defense. Just a theory.

I went with KP. Nice to see Hauser have a very good game after struggling a bit.

Smoke that Cigar, you wonderful smiling Unicorn !
He really energised the crowd and team-mates tonight!
He is such a pure delight to watch. The chemistry and personality he has brought to our team has been incredible.
Another Brad Stevens classic!

The Pistons were scorching from long range. Detroit shot over 50% from three on high volume but still lost by 10. It's a good outcome.
Great rebounding for Boston who won without Tatum. They went 7-1 without Tatum last year.
Note of importance: Hauser has found his stroke again.

At 33% from 3 on the season, JB's slinking toward Marcus Smart territory. (JB's a career 36% to Smart's 32%.)

via @LucidSportsFan:
The Pistons just shot over 50% from deep, made 20 threes, and lost by 10. That is hard to do.
A team has lost while shooting that well and making at least those many threes only 16 times out of 180 such games since 2022-23. The three losses have come against the Celtics (twice this year).

- If the Celtics went 5 seasons without playing the Detroit Pathetics, it would be too soon. They are the most boring team in the
NBA.
- Hauser came through with his best game of the season and very well could be in the starting lineup next season,
after Holiday is traded to Houston.
- PP with 55 points in the last four 4th quarters.
- Harris and Beasley would be nice additions to the Celtics Bench.
- Not Ready For Prime Time Player Jordan Walsh had 1 rebound in 7 minutes. Those Tillman/Walsh minutes are
not what you want to experience.

JB and KP delivered needed star-level performances, but it was Hauser and Pritchard who stepped up as needed to make a fairly easy W without Tatum possible, so they got my votes.
Luke was good too; Derrick a bit off offensively — good overall team win

In fairness to Walsh, Tillman and Peterson, it is really hard to do much of anything in their position. Even when they play 5+ minutes or so they hardly get to touch the ball. Certainly not going to have a rhythm of any kind.

Here's a fun one:
When a team makes 15+ 3PTs and shoots 50+% on both FGs and 3PTs AND their opponent shoots under 50% from the field and under 40% from 3PT...
Those teams were 529-6 all time
They are now 529-7 (Celtics 130 - 120 Pistons)
In games when those teams made 20+ 3s instead of 15+ they were 139-0. The Pistons made exactly 20 and so, 139-1.
If you cut out the opponent part and just ask what's the all-time record of teams that make 15+ 3s on 50+% from FG and 3PT, those teams were 859-64

Just an observation and based on publicly available stats...
JB passes less than JT relative to passes received but his passes lead directly to shots more while JT's passes turn more into hockey assists.
JB with a season-high 9 assists tonight.

Was really happy Hauser played his best/most complete game for a while, really did the business of both sides of the floor.
