Celts Kick 'Zards In The Nards! Victory Cigar vs WAS 12/15

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Mon Dec 16, 2024 1:20 am

Holy mackerel you guys we won the big game this is amazing!

Jayson Tatum was balling and led 7 Celtics in double figures, Pritchard had a nice all around game and came up with some big shots when the offense got sluggish, Derrick did Derrick stuff, and Luke Kornet was a beast! Bullied the Wizards bigs and dominated the glass all night.

A few more days off and then we're back to the grind. Bulls Thursday, Go C's!

Only six more three point attempts than the other team. Gotta get those numbers up.

Good to get a win but it wasn't a game that reached any great heights.

Tatum for the cigar, bit concerned about Porzingis and his sore heel, I hope it's not serious and the Celtics were just being cautious/conservative.

Pritchard again mounting a case for 6 MOTY.

That last quarter was a bit garbage to watch tbh lol

Anyhow onwards and upwards folks !

Team Effort tonight. Kudos to Tatum, Pritch, White, Kornet, Hauser and Porzingis.

Cross your fingers ZInger isn't seriously hurt, the heel extends into the achilles, which extends into the calf. Fortunately, it's the right foot, and he had surgery last June on the left.

An Alternative View:

Pts. + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed Field Goals - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+21 Jayson Tatum 35 minutes

+17.5 Payton Pritchard 37 minutes
+17 Derrick White 35 minutes
+16 Luke Kornet 27 minutes
+15.5 Sam Hauser 28 minutes
+12 Kristaps Porzingis 11 minutes

+9 Jrue Holiday 24 minutes
+4.5 Jaylen Brown 26 minutes

0 Jaden Springer 2 minutes
0 Jordan Walsh 2 minutes
0 Neemias Queta 10 minutes
-1.5 Xavier Tillman 2 minutes

Team Total = 111

KP almost made it 3 weeks before getting injured again. Wonder how long he will be out this time. Damn that’s frustrating.

He's the first guy to get me to use the 'bubble wrap him for the playoffs' line.
Don't honestly need to see him in the RS
No guarantee he won't get hurt in the playoffs anyway
But keep developing Queta, and see if Tillman can remember how to play basketball

Because the Cs are better and more poised now, after winning a chip, KP is just a luxury item now.

Before the Cs won a chip, KP was a necessity.

We need KP. He must stay healthy. Queta and Luke are straight but this is the regular season.

via Bobby Manning:
Porzingis said leaving the game was more of a precautionary move after he banged his heel at one point in the first half. He’s not sure if he’ll need to miss time, but he dealt with something similar in the past and it doesn’t sound concerning

Porzingis said it happened in the first quarter and he played through it. "In the second, when I started, it was pretty sensitive. So I told the medical staff and they just pulled me out of the game. I don't think it was anything major."

He wasn't exactly sure when it happened, either on a post-up, rebound or lob, he said.

"I think I should be fine for next game, but we'll see."

We just need him in April, May, and June.

Whatever he gives us now until March is a bonus.

Yup KP may be the ultimate one true bubble wrap guy.

But speaking of Tillman, or the lack thereof (of him in relevant rotational minutes), I’ve been very patient with my time share on Springer Island - but I’ve also got one foot on the “trade Springer and the first for Yabs and whatever second round pick washes up on the beach” rocket ship.
