Could be Derrick’s first All-Star selection, he’s got a great case and the East is pretty wide open. On last years roster was Maxey, Haliburton, Embiid, Scottie Barnes, Julius Randle (lol), Bam Adebayo … probably none of them make it, or at least should make it, so White gotta be a leading contender.
Let’s go D. White !!

New rule. You have a losing record when voting begins, you don't get an all-star.
Disregarding positions...
Celtics get 4 -- JT, JB, PP, White. Then two from Cavs -- Mobley + one of Mitchell/Garland. Towns and Brunson. None from Magic, injured. Dame and Giannis. Trae. Then one of Bam/Butler.
Done.

My first thought was Celtics should get three all stars: Tatum Brown and White, but will probably only get two. But looking at the east.... i feel like there's a shot.
There's really only eight guys I feel like are locks or close to it:
Giannis, Lillard, Tatum, Brown, Mobley, Mitchell, Brunson, KAT.
That's 2 guys from 4 of the top 5 East Teams. But then things start getting tricky. Atlanta and Miami will probably each get one guy, my guess would be Trae Young and Jimmy Butler. So that's 10 spots. Orlando should have Wagner as a lock, but given his injury status don't know what's going on with him. So for those last few spots you're looking at:
Wagner (injury ???), Siakam or Haliburton, Lavine or Vucevic, Cunningham, Maxey, Adebayo, Garland. But that's a pretty underwhelming list. None of those guys scream "absolutely has to be an all star." White would be right up there with any of them.
So there's like 8 locks then a whole lot of ehhhh.

Can't vote on it but I again propose PP for 3 point shoot out!

I am thinking/guessing Ty Herro has a shot.

Why the NBA should expand All-Star Game rosters to 15 playersBy Sam Quinn | Feb 24, 2021
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/why-the-nba-should-expand-all-star-game-rosters-to-15-players/When the NBA All-Star Game was first played in 1951, each roster was made up of 10 players. There were 11 teams in the league at the time, and while teams were allowed to start the season with 11 players on their roster, they were forced to trim down to 10 before the All-Star Game. Now let's do some math. If 20 out of 110 players made it to the first All-Star Game, just over 18 percent of the league was considered worthy of the honor when the idea was first conceived.
As the years passed, steadily fewer players relative to the size of the league made the All-Star Game. Nowadays, on a purely mathematical basis, it's almost four times as difficult to get there as it was when the game was founded....
Still, the number itself is less important than the principle guiding it. The NBA has never drawn from a wider talent pool than it does today. All 20 All-Stars in 1951 were born in the United States. In fact, 75 percent of them were born in just six states: New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, California, Kentucky and Illinois. Nine of this year's 24 selections were born in countries outside of the United States.

Yeah that's a good one, completely forgot about him. He might even be the most likely selection on Miami given that butler may very well be traded.

Yeah, I did mean to vote for Peterson. Figured I give him a bone.
Tatum and Brown will actually make it, and maybe White.
In the West, I just Voted for the consistently Best Players, regardless of Record.

Dunno if it's a new feature or I was just dumb to not notice from previous years, but I really like the "load previous ballot" button with NBA Voting on the app. Best thing NBA came up with since the introduction of the 3-pt line.

How does Jaylen's votes work? He has 433K in the frontcourt and 477K in the backcourt - seems like he gets kinda screwed by being in both categories
Also JT's superstardom is super underrated as we all know - consistently a top vote getter, jersey seller, etc. Obviously our fans love him but you don't get those numbers without broader appeal as well

It's Jaylen's German son.

Agreed on your 8.
Also, you forgot Lamelo.
Problems in Philly, Orlando and Miami leave it wide open after that.

Goodness the East All Stars look terrible this year -- good thing for them it's not an East/West format this year!
In order for Derrick to make it, he and the Cs will need to get really hot for a stretch here
Giannis, Tatum, KAT, Lillard, Mitchell
Brunson, Brown, Garland, Mobley, Ball
Bam
Leaves one spot for Cunningham? Maxey? Haliburton? White?
I love DW, but don't know that I'd feel good about his chances there
Of course, the format this year is new and different so how many All Stars are there actually going to be?
https://www.nba.com/news/2025-nba-all-star-game-new-formatAnswer: 24 All Stars, 3 teams of 8, named after Charles/Kenny/Shaq gross that's going to be awful, plus the winner of the Rising Stars game
My assessment: Derrick might make it as an injury replacement if he and the Cs have a hot next month
