Thanks for the Updates.

C's have currently lost two straight and are in danger of going 5-5 in last 10. We haven't had a 5-5 stretch since March 2023. Ditto with losing three straight. C's had two 6-4 stretches last season -- once in January (tough schedule) and another in late March/early April (#1 seed wrapped up).

December was supposed to be the easy month for us, with several days of rest in between games. But Cs have only managed a 6-5 record so far. We lose this game and it's season over with no chance of recovery! So we better not lose another game.

Over the last seven games we have a losing record (3-4) the starting lineup

KP
Tatum
Brown
White
Jrue

is net rating of -9. When healthy, in the whole season that lineup is net rating -4.

Last season that starting unit was netrating +11 over the entire regular season

Porziņģis and Holiday are both listed as QUESTIONABLE.

We've been worse with either of them on the floor so far, particularly on offense.

I expect complete destruction of Indiana, but the guys sure seem to think they can turn it on whenever they want, and it'd be nice to see less of that considering the improvements we've seen from Cleveland and OKC. Serious risk of going without homecourt advantage during our repeat.

Growing pains from incorporating Pritchard or something else?

I have no idea. Maybe playing through nicks and bruises? Our starting five hasn't been the same compared to last season. We were actually way better when Horford was starting in KP's place.

Maybe KP should be sitting until the All Star Break. I thought everything around his injury was communicated poorly to the fanbase. I was under the impression it was kind of a crazy injury for someone his size to be playing through/with.

We should just trade for a back up rim protector, so KP and Al can get their load management. I don’t think sitting KP for long stretches would do well for his conditioning and confidence. Lets just accept the fact that he is injury prone. Best we could do is find a legit rim protector. Kornet, Queta and Tillman won’t cut it. Heck, I would even get and play Tacko Fall, and let him just stand in the middle and bother shots. Plus we need that added energy. Our guys are playing bored and lazy on D.

The rim protection is fine.

It's not playing good defense on the perimter that's a problem.

Queta seems to do well as a Rim Protector. Kornet comes after that. Tillman is more of a PF; and seems to have dropped off a cliff.

The weak link on defense is White.

White is great at blocking shots, but he gets blown by easily and he gets scored on if he ends up defending in the low post.

Queta is soft and Slow af. We need a really big guy that can bother shots. Maybe a Jay Huff from memphis. That guy can shoot even, and was a defensive player in the gleague i think. Plus he’s cheap.

i tend to agree. He’s good at blocking shots and getting strips, but can’t seem to get his guy in front of him.

Pacers in a tight game vs. OKC. Haliburton has 2 pts. Look for him to rain threes on us lol. Turner played, Toppin did not.

OKC knows how to close out games. They get stops when they need to. 17-7 run to finish game. I think they've now won 12 of 13.

Pacers 5-game streak cut short and are hungry for a win tomorrow. Hope Cs are too. :P

Interesting that Scheierman, Davison, and Watson are listed as OUT but Peterson is not.

I’m inclined to think this is the actual issue - KP came back and started protecting the rim, and then immediately everyone else forgot that they still have to play defense.

A bit of a taking things for granted situation is my take.
