That 2nd Half Was No Fun(der)! Loss vs OKC 1/5

Poop you guys it was fun when we were winning but not so much when we were losing lol.
Celts had a very poor shooting game. We overcame it in the 1st half by doing a great job of getting in the paint and using our size advantage, and had a 10 pt lead at half. But that's not much of a cushion in the NBA, and all it took was a little OKC run and we had a tough 4th quarter on our hands. The crowd woke up and the Thunder took the momentum, and the Celts got sloppy and came up short, unfortunately.
The whistles were weird in this one, and the Thunder feed was making me nuts, so I'm gonna eat some dinner and move on. I wanted that win but I guess I can't always get what I want haha. I had so many highlight tweets for the victory thread ugh!
Late game in Denver on Tuesday, Go C's!

It feels like the C's have lost almost every regular season game that I have gotten up for over the last 2-3 years lol

Impressive win by OKC. Kept telling you, they're the team we should be wary of. That damn defense is all-world.
Need the win vs. Nuggets in Denver.

Yes they're very good. 20% from 3 when a lot of shots were open suggests they're definitely beatable.

Booooooooooooooooooo. Not our players but everything else, the way we played, the turnovers, jb lost his mind in the 4th, the shooting, no bench, and THE DUMB UGLY STINKING REFS!!!

Tough loss. OKC bench 27-13. Celtics rebounding +8 in the first half, -6 in the second half. Celtics 6 turnovers in the first half, 10 turnovers in the second half

The thunder are the better team especially since they were missing key guys and handled Boston quite easily in the second half
Regardless, probably one of the worst halves of basketball I’ve seen in years 27 points the entire second half and it’s not a ton of fun watching Boston miss 37 threes. On top of that the bench was awful.
Boston hasn’t had a great deal of success against Denver so likely 500 road trip

Third lowest eFG% by the Cs in Mazzula era, by far the worst this season.
OKC has set the bar. Defending champs by butt. We got some catching up to do.

IF BOSTON DOESN'T MAKE A CHANGE, AND STAYS THE SAME, DON'T COMPLAIN IF WE LOSE A TITLE BY A HAIR.
Brad one way or the other needs to get an addition that is better than Al or Kornet. This doesn't necessarily mean a center. A wing would work as well.
PP and Hauser are a real good bench group against 95% of this league. But might not be elite enough vs the last 5%.
Losing to OKC doesn't mean they are better. But they also get Chet and Caruso back. We need a player upgrade, or I will visit this Post again come end of the season.
Edit - BOLD is for posters who may be reading impaired.

I’m wary of us. If we play how we do when we feel good and shots fall, we’ll win. If we can’t hold onto the ball, can’t shoot, and get nothing from PP and SH it will be a bumpy road. Besides that both teams would have a long road to even meet each other.
Edit; DEFENDED, WE MUST DEFEND!

20% shooting from 3pt land won't cut it.
JB really screwed up in the 4th.
But I don't recall anybody here saying the Cs will go 4-0 on this road trip.
A win against Denver will make this trip a success.

Obvious loss. Even by 13 with a 17 point spanking in Q4.
Celtics shot like sh*t. Porzingis and Brown forced multiple shots that made me cringe despite their overall good shooting percentages. The team overall was eh.
9-46 from 3 for Boston vs 16-38 for OKC. Spotted them 21 pts. right there and OKC was still left with 8 more 2 pt. attempts to score.
OKC had 5 more steals and 1 more block. But many of the Celtic ball losses were due to inattentiveness or plain stupidity.
Poorly angled or non-chalant passes (vs crisp, targeted, SHORTER passes while making eye contact with receiver FIRST).
Dribbling into traffic and losing control, not being prepared on a spin for a help defender due to lack of court awareness.
OKC was the HIGHER IQ team today, and better shooting team. That will win it most of the time.

Shredding my Celtics fan card as I type, friends. The GT made me realize I need to switch to a team that has that extra gear. A "no joke" type of franchise if you will. Any ideas?

The three point percentage was a symptom of a bigger problem, nobody could dribble the basketball for an entire half. Just absolutely locked down for 24 straight minutes. Think we got downhill maybe 3 or 4 times total.

Joe just said that Boston had bad spacing in the 2nd half and he played Kornet with Al who is shooting like 10% from 3 for over a week. Keeps saying Spacing while no one actually covers Kornet

He didn't shake hands with anybody after the buzzer sounded.

I saw that. I wonder if it was more due to the OKC players or the refs? The no-calls in this game might have been the worst I ever saw, vs. what they were calling at the other end.
