Peli-can You Believe It? Celts Win Consecutive Games! Victory Cigar vs NOP 1/31

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Sat Feb 1, 2025 3:26 am

Holy crap you guys the Big Easy was not easy at all lol, but we survived and won two big games in a row woohoo!

JT game winner! JB with a huge shot late too! KP and Derrick on both ends! Luke and other players hooray!

I thought the Celts played pretty well tonight, but the shorthanded Pels did too and it was a close game throughout (Trey Murphy was ridiculous sheesh!). Glad we won because the C's really didn't suck enough to earn the meltdown that would have been forthcoming haha. And the refs missed an obvious goaltend at the end, which would have been a really annoying way to lose by a couple points or whatever. Good job team! Phew!

Sixers Sunday, Go C's!

Mediocre performance overall, but clutch shot by JT. Crazy how his best scoring game in weeks was 27 point on 21 shots in 40 minutes lol

Let's not forget that Tatum also had 10 assists in this game.

He makes his teammates better also.

Great shot by Tatum, he was soooo due for a game winner to go in.
Troubling to come down to the buzzer with them missing Zion, DeJounte,BI, Herb Jones, Theis
We’re looking really stagnant on offense, rotation looking a little stale, old, predictable
It’d be nice to get some Springer, Scheierman, Walsh, etc or even a 2-way like JDD or Anton for a stint
I looked up Dee Brown as a rookie drafted late first in 1990, and Dee played 22 minutes A GAME in the playoffs for the “And Here Comes Larry Bird” Celts
Scheierman is an age 24 and a half first round pick, why can’t he play at all?

But anyway, JT, won that thing!! Was an awesome game winner !!

Also we've only lost back to back games once this season.

Tatum looked so comfortable in that situation, he looked extremely aware of the clock too. Told Jrue to hold off just enough.

I don’t like how we’re allowing big scoring nights from everyone and not having any ourselves. I know we share it across the board but I want one of the guys to go off every now and then.

Also please please guard.

I'm going off memory but these games where the other team is severely short handed have given us serious issues. Sometimes it's lack of effort vs. 2nd stringers looking to give us their best shot. Didn't see that tonight, I thought we played pretty well, they just matched our shooting and Trey had a career night.

Big time shots in the end by our two stars. Best road team continues on

The Tatum game winner has probably done a fair bit to erase my overall annoyance/disappointment from this game

Don't want to really criticise the team though but praise the injury riddled and brave heart Pels for their amazing effort and hustle tonight.

Not sure why the coaching staff thinks spamming ISOs all 4th Q long is a winning formula. The offense has become so predictable and boring. You have 5 legit two-way players and basically eliminate two of them every game (White and Jrue). This team has been become a tough watch if you ask me. Mazzulla shoulders most of the blame with his lack of creativity. He's had a rough season.

Al and Hauser becoming unplayable half the time hasn't helped.

Two in a row? Get out of town
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
I blame Joe Mazzulla for this result.

Agree
Jrue is not involved in the offense at all
White also in this game

Jrue can abuse any guard down low but doesn't get the ball
JT being guarded by a guard and getting only one post up is negligence. Get him down low and work the smaller player. This is on the coaching staff

It’s a win. I feel better.
Nice for the Cs to win when there is so much other BS going on.

As a side note, i keep getting impressed by how many fans we have in away games, esp on the West Coast.

Suspect most of them are Massachusetts ex Pats, not just bandwagoners (like most non LA based Lakers fans)

Great to see at any rate.

I think there are a lot of Bridwagoners out here.

My Dad was a birdwagoner, and so am I.
