Celts Trade Cavs For Cash Considerations! Victory Cigar vs CLE 2/4

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Wed Feb 5, 2025 3:05 am

Oh hell yeah you guys we came up clutch and won the superbig game! Great win!

DERRICK MOTHERHUMPING WHITE!! Plus Jays and Bigs (KP and Al and Luke!) and Smalls and all the CELTICS TEAM!

Neither team's offense was especially sizzling tonight, but the Celts were locked in defensively and took a big early lead. Cavs got going and slowly climbed back over the middle 2 quarters, so the C's had a fight on their hands in the 4th. But our defense held up, DWhite hit some bombs, and we came away with a very sold win over the team with more all-stars than us (haha). Good stuff!

Mavs Thursday, Go C's!

Very nice game. I thought the C's were in control all night, to the point that the Cavs didn't look at any point like the dominant force they've been all year.

Let's crush the new-look Mavs on Thursday, then do the same to the all-powerful Knicks on Saturday.

White hit some big shots, so he gets it I guess. Shouldn't have gotten that close late though

White showing what a big time player he is and both ends. He has gotten better and better in the clutch since he was traded to Boston. Somebody post his clutch shooting splits. I'll bet it's insane. Brown nuthuggers are furious lol

Tatum is a great player but his decision making in the clutch remains inconsistent.

Upon further consideration, I went with White and Horford instead.

Really nice to get this win. Put Cavs in their place. C's ceiling is still high. They just need to touch it more often and when it counts the most.

Blew a 20 point lead to end up 7. A little scary at the end, until the refs evened up the free throw differential to only 8 more for Cleveland. White had a 14 point 3rd quarter and basically helped seal the game. Horford played Big tonight (10 Rebounds, 13 points). Luke Kornet set a lot of great screens, moved the ball well, and was fabulous in only 12 minutes. The rest of the guys got this one done with stingy defense. About time they put in the effort. They sure are paid well enough.

Despite the great defensive effort (finally), the smoother running of the offense (despite the shooting whoas, the looks were there) was probably an equally impressive accomplishment. About time on that as well.

An Alternative Perspective:

Pts. + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed Field Goals - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+20.5 Derrick White 35 minutes

+15.5 Jaylen Brown 28 minutes
+15 Al Horford 27 minutes
+15 Jayson Tatum 35 minutes
+13 Kristaps Porzingis 35 minutes

+10.5 Payton Pritchard 29 minutes
+8.5 Luke Kornet 12 minutes

+7 Jrue Holiday 26 minutes
+4 Sam Hauser 13 minutes

Team Total = 109

Great game by the Cs. You can tell they don’t fear no Cavs.

VC to White for being clutch but also great defense throughout.

CP I’ve gotta shout out my guy Al who was big all night. Clanked his first couple of threes but knocked down his 3rd and played some great D.

Tatum and esp Buffalo smoke the Cigar for me.

4 wins in a row and get a crucial psychological edge over the Cavs

We are legitimately back as serious contenders folks

I want to say something nasty and swear at Scott Foster, don't want to get Parl off side after a fantastic and stirring win though, but that officiating really did my head in tonight and proud of the boys they didn't let it rattle them and got on with the win.

Shout out to Konry and esp Uncle Al for valuable mins tonight.

Ring number #19 is now well and truly back on.

Flowers to Joe tonight for outcoaching COTY favourite Kenny Atkinson, very happy with his use of subs and time outs tonight Mazzle Magic

White and Horford easily.

I just don’t feel like this team is anywhere near our level. Still rather face them than the Bucks, Knicks or even the Sixers.

Jaylen deserves a mention for being the only guy who could score for like the first 8 minutes of the game — and doing so really effectively.

The rest of his night went sideways, but that was key.

Tatum made some plays, but going 7 for 23 was horrific. We don't go anywhere until he plays much better and shot selection is the Big Key.

When we fire on all cylinders we are the best team. Maybe they finally woke up the second half of the Philly game. White for the VC.

If we can beat the team with the best record on the road, while our best player was this bad offensively, I think we can win it all.
