We'll always have the memory of that one game where he played well.

Well, this all but guarantees Bradzarren trade back from 28 and 6 more times to pick up another 17 future 2nds to try this again.

Re: Jaden Springer Appreciation Thread
Seemed inevitable since Joe didn't have faith to throw him out for 5-8 minutes even when we were getting cooked by small/fast guards.

Also, did the "showcasing" work? Maybe that got it down from another team's 2nd to ours.

Re: Jaden Springer Appreciation Thread
Jaden seemed like a good guy, and he’s a NBA champ now, so Godspeed young man.
However, from a front office perspective: To pay a second to bring him in, he doesn’t play and then we pay a second to dump him, is not a good use of assets. The rare blunder from Brad/Zarren

Re: Jaden Springer Appreciation Thread
I liked the potential when they traded for him.
Looked forward to seeing 3 million 3's in the offseason turn into a rotational defensive stopper who can knock down shots.
Looked back and would have rather of had the 41st pick in the 24' draft.
Hopefully he gets minutes and another chance to make an NBA career for himself.

Re: Jaden Springer Appreciation Thread
Good luck to him in HOU, though seems like a tough place to crack the rotation. We know Udoka loves defensive guys though.
If the shot ever becomes even semi-reliable, he can be a decent player. I thought he was a guy worth taking a flier on. It didn't pan out in his year here though, oh well. Have to chalk it up as an L for Brad and the FO to give a (good) 2nd rounder for him, get basically nothing, and then pay a (seemingly not good) 2nd to dump him. But in the grand scheme of things, no one will be perfect with every move and if this is the scale of your misses then that's overall doing a good job lol

Well yeah, Ime's top assistant is Ben Sullivan..their shooting coach, who was our shooting coach for a year..Milwaukee's shooting coach before that.
With that being said, I'm not sure Houston keeps him..they might trade him in a separate deal t improve their team or just waive him.
It's been hard enough for them to find minutes for Reed Sheppard (3rd overall pick) and Cam Whitmore (20th overall pick but was projected by most top go top 10 and projected by some to go top 5), so it might be really hard for Springer to get mins there.
Think Springer's best chance for playing time is to go somewhere like Detroit, New Orleans, Charlotte, Utah or Washington..maybe even Portland..
Good luck, Jaden!
Oh well, he was a flier. Didn't work out but it only cost a mid 2nd rounder to acquire him and a 2nd rounder 5 yrs in the future to move him. And we've accumulated tons of 2nd round picks anyways so no big deal. 2nd rounders (especially ones mid to late 2nd round) have an extremely low hit rate anyways. So this is really no loss - we save a bunch of $ and open up a roster spot.
Hard for an end of the bench guy to get much playing time here anyways with our top 8-9 guys set in stone..when we have probably the deepest, most talented team in the league. Even tougher when you're only 22, and have shooting limitations on the team that shoots more 3's than any team in league history..
1/11/24 The birth of a new Hal. From now on being less combative, avoiding confrontation - like Switzerland

Those two 2nd rounders likely turning out to be the next Jokic and Draymond. Brad will pay for his sins.

Agreed I was hopeful when he got here but I’m not appreciating his costing the team two draft picks to do close to nothing.

May Brad never have a more costly failure.
