Heat Decultured! Victory Cigar vs MIA 2/10

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Tue Feb 11, 2025 2:39 am

Oh hells yeah you guys we smacked Miami upside the head and won the big game!

Jayson (!!) and Derrick and Kristaps and Sam and Payton and Alfred Joel Horford Reynoso!!

Celts had a dreadful-shooting 1st quarter, but then PP came in like a bat out of hell, Sam hit a bunch of 3's, KP and Derrick got going, Al was a gangster, JT had another monster megastar takeover in the 3rd, and the Heat were cooked!

One more game before the Allstar break! Spurs Wednesday, Go C's!

Pritchard and Hauser opened it up, Tatum and Al shut the door. Everyone had a good night, ignore the two shots from Rico.

Wasn’t able to watch this one but if the score is any indication they played lock-down D and that’s what we need consistently moving forward.

Great thread title

JT and team (maybe Al just above the team)
Joe tried something else with KP in the second. Put him in the corner and the dunker spot. Seems to work

Don't know why but it feels so weird to watch the Heat without Butler. He embodied that "culture" thing so hard.

I'd love to say the C's are back, but those abominations against the Mavs and Lakers are still fresh. The energy seems to be shifting though.

Fantastic night by Tatum, with the rest of the starters also playing well. Pritchard was phenomenal distributing the ball (8 assists, no turnovers).

The Fabreeze Brothers (Tatum and White) get my votes cause they have been playing so fresh lately :D

Always gratifying to get a win on these South Beach Punks.

The casuals don’t appreciate how much sacrifice Tatum had to make when it comes to scoring to make sure everyone eats.

There’s no reason Tatum can’t be scoring like this or having this much usage like he’s shown the last 2 games. He averaged 30 2 seasons ago.

Even with Tatum struggling shooting 3-10 in the first half, you still continue to give him the ball for him to make the decisions, I’ll always live with the results as long as Tatum is aggressive and that doesn’t mean just scoring but having the ball in his hands making plays. Anything is better than Tatum taking a backseat which he has done a lot this season.

I saw KP have less touches in the second half but he looked way more effective not being required to give him the ball almost every play on offense when he’s in, what’s better is Derrick white was more involved and got going.

Dominant defense tonight. Them being without Herro helped but but I think it was a function of just how precise and efficient our offense was after the 1Q. Really played with a lot of pace and space. Made the reads easy. We saw guys who don't handle, cutting and moving into open space to open things up for others. Scoring like that allows us to set up the halfcourt D. JT other than 2 or 3 ill-advised hoists was everything you ever wanted him to be. He smokes it tonight for sure.

He says our offense is not built for him to shoot the ball more. Maybe it should. When we have fewer chefs in the kitchen, JT has more time to cook, and he was Gordon **** Ramsay out there tonight.

I've been pretty hard on Al lately so I gotta acknowledge when he has a game like tonight. He gets the CP for the double-double. Had lots of space tonight. Again the reads are simpler when that is the case. There was a simple structure for who was handling the ball. JT with DWhite and PP in support. Everyone else just move to an open space and play off their penetration. That's it. I pray we can keep that up when Jrue and JB are reinserted.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

Maybe if Jimmy played they would have been beaten by only 15. Time to start the no Jimmy train, Middleton has had his fun.

I know some fans are critical of Joe Mazz for keeping Tatum in late in the 4th quarter, but I think it was necessary for JT to keep cooking and keeping getting the mojo he got back from the Knicks game, he is one of the most durable players in the league.

I wonder if you actually sat someone down and asked them to explain "Heat Culture" what they might say.

Annoying stat. As a numbers guy, it's now hard for me to tell him to stop shooting 3s lol.
