What position do you feel needs to be filled? Any particular name in mind?

I think that we should sign Drew Peterson. -- I'm not sure why we signed Torrey Craig, instead of Lonnie Walker?
But, if I had a 2nd choice at this point, then it would be Walker.

I went buyout vet. If there's a vet PG waived (cough, Reggie, cough), I think it'd be nice to have that insurance on the roster.

I don't think I'm in a huge rush to lock in Peterson or anything, and we have 2 other inexperienced wings sitting there already if we do need them for some reason.

Lonnie Walker IV is my choice (I don't have faith in Jrue Holiday being healthy) and I think the Celtics need more vet wing depth. Celtics already have Drew Peterson and can sign him to a regular deal in the off-season.

That's true; Peterson will be a RFA for us. We can sign him to either another Two-Way, or a Full NBA Contract.
Might as well go for Walker then.

Leave it open until the last day of the season and then do a minimum deal for Peterson like they did with Queta last year to get a jump start on their offseason business. Adjust that plan if an injury or extended underperformance by someone opens up an actual roster need.

IMO, Walker would have wanted a multi year contract. I don't think the C's want to commit to that.

I agree that Peterson should get a deal. I've been beating that drum. Neems got his in April of 24', hopefully the same happens with Drew. I think the way their using Peterson in Maine is very similar to Neems last season. Spread out the possible 50 games over the season with a few appearances and a bunch of DNP's. Enough to keep an eye on him but not enough where he can really show out with the big club. That way when contract negotiations start the agent really only has a few big league stats but lots of G-League stats that way the contract will be more team friendly.

I would give Peterson the longest contract possible (I suppose it is 4 years) - he is a keeper.

I think they need to convert drew last minute. They might need him for playoffs as Scheirman and Walsh don’t seem like options.

Craig defense and some shooting. Petersen shooting if hauser goes down.

Hauser and PP, that kind of shooting, is what the team needs redundancy in.

I'd be open to Mo Bamba, good rebounder, can block shots, can shoot threes, turns 27 in May. On paper he is well worth a min deal, if he is a bad player, at least he is a bad player who rebounds well and blocks shots, we could use that on occasion.

Christian Wood is probably better than Mo, but he is less of an interior presence and, apparently, not the type of guy you want in your locker room. I mean, I'm not aware of any specific complaints about his character, but going back to when he went undrafted, no one seems to want the guy around despite that he is quite capable.

Lonnie Walker isn't playing very well in Europe. His shooting is bad (3pt line is closer to the basket than in the NBA and he shoots 39/118 or 33%) and is defense is suspect at best. More TOs than assists (1.9 vs 1.8)
If Brad and Joe thought he would be someone that would add to the team he would have been signed already.

Pat Bev was effective for the Hospital-Bucks last playoffs: 8pts/5ast/1stl/.7blk in 35 min/g. Wouldn’t mind him as 15th man.

I chose other for basically this reason. I'm not sure if Peterson is the guy I sign at the last minute though. Maybe JD instead? Would he have more trade value to other teams watching him tear up G-League?

Eesh, I dunno. Not sure I want him in the locker room. Risk / reward might not be there. I don't think he's a cancer or anything, but it would definitely inject a new personality into the mix.

I don’t know what it is about Pat, I don’t like him anymore honestly because he ticked me off as a Buck, but he seems to get the effort level picked up with the teams he’s been on. I wouldn’t mind him here, but he thinks he still should be getting minutes, while I think he needs to accept a “coach” and emergency roles. A lot of players can’t.

I think the guy can be useful but there is no way he’s going to accept multiple DNP coaches decision in a row and sometimes play out of the blue. We can’t afford a personality like that. May be why we didn’t bring Walker back, I don’t know.

If there is a buyout vet that can help now and Joe will play, that’s my number 1.
I really want to give JD a shot but I may be living in 2022.
Drew probably would contribute more…
I am not as high on Walker as many of you, but I wouldn’t complain that much if it’s him.

And I am ok with O’Shae.
