City Of Celticsly Love! Victory Cigar vs PHI 2/20

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Fri Feb 21, 2025 2:18 am

What what you guys we beat that Sixers ass and won the big game once again!

Jayson Tatum was a maestro! Payton Pritchard shakin' and bakin'! JB, KP, Derrick, Jrue and Al all great too! Additionally: Luke Kornet!

Celts played gorgeous team basketball tonight! Moved the ball, started out attacking the rim, then caught fire from 3. Joel was useless and those Sixers guys don't really play as a team and couldn't keep up. C's were very solid on the defensive end too and we smacked em around all night. Fun!

Early game vs Knicks Sunday, Go C's!

Nice to see the Celtics drub Philadelphia. Embiid looks like he'll never be the same. Needs at least a year off plus surgery probably. Maxey is lightning. Pritch smokes the CIGAR tonight, even though White probably had the best game, and Tatum was right there with them on his way to a Triple Double. Jaylen Brown, Kornet, Horford and Porzingis were all devastating in limited court time. Even though Porzingis looked like he rushed a lot of shots, ZInger still played well for 25 minutes of action.

An Alternative Perspective:

Pts. + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed Field Goals - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+21 Payton Pritchard 31 minutes
+20.5 Derrick White 26 minutes
+20.5 Jayson Tatum 35 minutes

+19 Jaylen Brown 27 minutes
+15.5 Luke Kornet 17 minutes

+12 Kristaps Porzingis 25 minutes
+11.5 Al Horford 18 minutes

+5.5 Jrue Holiday 20 minutes
+4 Torrey Craig 8 minutes

+0.5 Neemias Queta 4 minutes
+0.5 Sam Hauser 21 minutes
0 Jordan Walsh 3 minutes

I hate snubbing Tatum after a triple double but Luke and Payton absolutely blitzed Philly from go to whoa, and deserve their flowers

Very fun game to watch, never really had any worries or anxiety, we are several tiers above them as a team.

Loved hearing the boos and Let's go Celtics chants ring out at Wells Fargo Centre.

All played well
JT with a triple double smokes it
For me the CP goes to Kornet who becomes a problem for other teams and PP with a puff

Yeah, I snubbed Pritchard (confident he’ll get tons of votes, deservedly) to vote for JT and Luke.

Luke has just been huge for this team. Amazing season.

And Torrey Craig MY GUY with 3 blocks in 9 minutes and absolutely destroyed Yabs on one of them. Craig getting under guy’s skin too (like Council) in garbage time too, just because — you love to see it

I hope we’re years away from it, but the end could come really quickly for Joel Embiid.

Jrue played awesome defense against him

I have no idea how we pay Luke Kornet moving forward.

EDIT: If Luke does get paid (not necessarily by us), part of it should automatically be wired to JT's bank account.

This PG thread is a wasteland and your indifference doesn't help to control Embiid's waterworks.

Nice win.

VC to Pritchard and Tatum.

Pritchard was awesome! 28 points in 31 minutes. 8-15 from 3.

Tatum played great. He didn't force shots, drew double teams and made outstanding passes on his way to a triple double.

Kornet was phenomenal. Played with energy, made good cuts, rebounded, blocked shots and ran around dunking on the Sixers defense.

White with a sneaky good game with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Brown played well too. 20, 6 and 6.

Al played well. KP was splid, so was Jrue.

Torrey Craig with 3 greats blocks in limited minutes. I want to see him play more minutes.

Very good coaching job by coach Joe.

Where's the guy who wanted to cut Kornet? It's just L after L after L for that guy.

Man, this is the exact 3 points I was gonna make. Do I get the brain back tomorrow or do you have it thru the weekend? Lord knows, neither of us tax it too much.

Sort of cool we got to see the full rosters out there of the players that matter.

I wouldn’t be shocked if that’s the litmus test game that 86’s the 76’ers this season and get a head start on Embiid’s surgery.
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
Reminder:

The Sixers have been to the Finals once in the past 40 years.

That is the ONLY time during that period they got deeper into the playoffs than the Cetics did.

By way of contrast, the Celtics have been to the Finals 7 times over the same span, winning 4 championships.

The only downer of this game is the realization that we maybe can’t afford Kornet next year.
