Joe Mazzulla has expressed his gratitude that Neemias Queta allows him to be demanding of the seven footer. I asked Mazzulla what his points of emphasis were when he got on Queta after subbing him out in the first quarter and what he made of Queta's response.
Mazzulla: "I just think he had some opportunities to finish plays in the paint, and with them blitzing and changing defenses, we have to be able to punish that. I thought in the first half, he was just a little hesitant on those, and in the second half, he did a great job finishing them."
Mazzulla on Queta continued: "When you're hard on a guy like that, I told him that yesterday [that] I truly think that he has a chance to be a good player in this league, & he's won games for us. And it's hard sometimes when he doesn't get to play all the time, but that can't impact his value."
Mazzulla on Queta continued: "I really believe in him, and he's got a chance to be good, so it's important to stay on him."
Joe Mazzulla when asked about Torrey Craig's impact crashing from the corners. Craig had 12 points & 4 offensive rebounds in the Celtics' win over the 76ers.
"His physicality, we felt that on both ends of the floor, and [he's] a great screener. But those plays were huge...He's been great at that.”
