Celts Fall Short In Rumble With The Thunder! Loss vs OKC 3/12

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Thu Mar 13, 2025 2:06 am

Well dang you guys we did not win the big game this is the worst!

I dunno man. Tatum, White and Shy-Gorgeous Al Horford were awesome tonight, and the Celtics played a pretty good game I thought, until the last couple minutes at least. Felt like we took too many 3's (which I usually don't say), but most of them were open I guess. Our bench wasn't great outside of Luke, and JB had a tough one... finally got going in the 4th but then fouled out.

Meanwhile, SGA and Chet were terrific, Thunder role players were hitting everything, and the OKC defense is top-notch and makes every possession a battle. I gotta say though, it seemed like OKC was allowed to be super physical on both ends, but then would flop when we pushed back and the refs ate it up. So if this ends up being a Finals matchup, I guess we've gotta adjust to it or something. It was annoying lol.

Anyway, would have been a cool win but oh well I guess!

OKC is definitely for real and SGA is phenomenal. When he's dribbling is more like he's gliding, so smooth and unique. They deserved the win.

Great games by Tatum, White and Horford, not so much by the rest. Jaylen Brown brought his best dumb of the season to this one.

Fun game to watch (unless you had the game thread open, in which case it was a terminal catastrophe).

On to the next.

I took the names of all you who declared the Celtics done. Pathetic.

Celtics in 5.

OKC too good in this one. JB needs to be better.

They have the COY and MVP. We shouldn't be struggling this much against them though if we're really that good.

Horrible match up. Hopefully someone in the West takes care of them before the Finals.

Pritchard once again, useless in a big game.

I've been called a lot of things before but never once has anyone ever called me a homer.

I'll take it.

In this matchup, esp without KP feels like we’re missing a playable wing
OKC seems much younger, quicker, more athletic
And the whistle they got, they shot 35FTA to our 12 FTs
Would’ve liked Queta minutes, and players shooting at the hoop rather than kicking out to 3pt line 3-5x a game

Oklahoma is the best team in the NBA and I don’t think anyone can argue that. They’re incredible on both sides of the ball.

Like I was saying in the GT, what Boston was doing wasn’t sustainable. They started missing in the fourth and they lost.

Brown was awful and as much as I love Pritchard, he’s unplayable against these guys.

We shot 60 threes lol. We're not going to get to the FT line unless they're horribly undisciplined on the perimeter

Someone post SGA’s stats when guarded by Pritchard.

I’m being deadly serious here.

6MOTY > COY and MVP.

Don’t you disrespect PP like that.

They look like the better team. Nobody for us to hunt on offense (which is basically our entire offense) plus they're more athletic.

Good point. Hope he's still 6MOY in May and June.

This team is still undisciplined. Its ok to jack off 3’s because that’s our game, but only if we are making them. We were down like 4, and easily could have trimmed it down if only we attacked inside or try to het a foul call. Instead, we jacked up non stop 3’s and bricked them. While okc killed us with high percentage mid ranges and layups and free throws. Dwhite got an and1 late when we were already down big. If we put pressure by attacking inside to start the 4th maybe we could have rattled them a bit.

You won't, because they'll face Cleveland in the finals.

Maybe Luka will take care of them again, who knows? I wouldn't bet for us in the finals against these guys.
