Celtics Bench Can't Pull a Rabbit Out of Their Hat! Loss vs ORL 4/9

Well dang you guys apparently we are not as good without our top 6 players playing haha.

Baylor Scheierman rules, Luke and Neem were big, and PP and Sam did some stuff. But the Celts shot (very!) poorly from 3, lost the rebounding battle and just didn't have enough tonight.

Oh well! An improbable win would have been fun but the starters got some rest and the bench got some experience I guess. Celts now finish the RS with 2 home games vs Charlotte, and then we start destroying fools and winning Banner 19!

Hornets Friday, Go Cs'!

Oh well. I had fun, lol
But if you are missing your entire starting 5
Your three veteran shooters (Pritch, Hauser, Torrey Craig) can NOT go 3-18 on 3PTA and you have any chance whatsoever
but, oh well, still some moments

On the bright side, Luke Kornet and Neemias Queta played well, while JB, JT, Zinger, Al, Jrue and Derrick had the day off.

That's the positive.

Might as well skip going negative on the rest of the guys.

I guess Pritch and Baylor held their own considering that the opposing defense could focus on them more than usual, but with the starters and Al out, the opportunity was there for them to show more. Of course, Orlando's defense wasn't distracted by the regular starters or Al.

Norris was the only one shooting better than 25% from 3.

You're a psycho like Joe if you enjoyed that lol. Wish they staggered the rest of the starters. But ultimately it's the most meaningless of meaningless end of season games from the standpoint of winning the title this season.

We're now 1-20 when scoring below 85 points in the Stevens era. We're now 17-1 when holding opponents under 100 this season. :(

Baylor with the big minutes and the start took a nice step forward.

This wasn't even our worst eFG% for the season. That honor belongs to our FULLY HEALTHY squad that lost to the Thunder by double digits back in January.

Baylor has the ability to drive to the basket.

That's something Hauser and some of the Maine guys are lacking.

I think Baylor will become a rotation player in the near future.

Safe to say JD is miles away from being somewhat decent 12 dude on the roster.
He again looks lost and doenst know what to do.
Walsh experiment might be over too

Yes that was my takeaway too. Walsh not playing in the second half feels like a sign that Mazzulla is ready to move on. Per spotrac, he has 200k guaranteed next season with a full guarantee on opening night so I'm guessing they'll give him a final chance in camp before making a decision but right now it's not looking great.

Scheierman, with his 15 points, became the 9th different Celtic to lead the team in scoring in a game this season. The nine are our top 8 guys + Baylor.

Baylor's their 10th man today, but could well be their 7th man one year from now. If Jrue gets traded, I think there's even an outside shot that he's starting by the end of next year.

I hope they sit Pritchard along with the top guys for at least one of these last two games. Put the ball in Baylor and JD's hands, please.

Oh, and Sammy, too. I want to see more Miles Norris.

I give Walsh one more year, but do nothing with JD other than wish him luck finding an NBA contract this summer.

I'd bet we get close to a 'full go' on Friday vs CHA. With the play-in tournament, it's a long time off until the first playoff game, right? CHA should be a fine enough scrimmage. Play lots of zone defense, shoot a lot of 3s, hope to get a big enough lead for the deeper bench guys to play a decent amount.

And the board will melt down into subatomic particles, but JB needs to log at least 20 minutes in each of the last two games, so that's happening, and that'll be fun.

JD was awful... there is no way he gets a real contract here...

I wonder if JD just is a little too nervous, or what. But, yeah, he did not seize the opportunity, that's for sure.

Walsh needs that Baylor swag. Baylor struts around like he owns the court. Walsh kinda looks like he hopes they don't swing the ball to him. I think there's still a player in there, but he just needs to have Pop telling him he belongs every day or something. Or, you know, take the $200K and good luck elsewhere.

posted this in prior thread, but that's the effect of Baylor having been The Man on two different college teams for a total of at least 3 years (plus a year or two of being The Man in Training) (wasn't he a 5 year college player?). And a QB throwing for a zillion yards! F it, Baylor can do the thing!

Lol at the part in red. IIRC Jordan had a couple of successful drives to the hoop early this season (last fall?), but the last several months he's good to square up with a weirdly angular triple threat position that looks mis-aligned, a position from which it's not at all ready/possible to shoot, from 28 feet out on the wing, maybe take one dribble, and shuffle it along to the next guy. NBA ACTION!

Jordan Walsh should have this in his ears repeatedly

Baylor already sings it to himself in the shower, in the car, buttering toast, and on the court.
