Hornets Exterminated, Celtics' Quest For Banner 19 Starts Now! RS Finale Victory Cigar vs CHA 4/13

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Sun Apr 13, 2025 7:13 pm

Hey that was sweet you guys our bench and the Maine Squeezes just busted out a can of Raid and won the big-ass game!

Payton and JD and Luke and Baylor and Sam and Walsh and Queta and TEAM!

Our top 6 were out today. Celts pulled out to a huge early lead and it was super fun, but then Hornets responded with a run in the 3rd and we had a game on our hands. 4th quarter was wild! Really cool that our bench guys stepped up and got the win! 82 games down, 61 big wins!

Playoffs start next weekend! We'll play the winner of the East 7/8 play-in game between Orlando and Atlanta on Tuesday.

Go C's!!

Pritch is that dude!! Korny is so fun!! Big Shot Walsh! Loved everybody!!

This will hold me until tomorrow… may not make it a week! :/

You guys ready for banner 19? I haven't been that active in game threads this year because I've been saving myself for the playoffs. You guys need me and I won't let you down. I'm ready.

Yes bisme and Parl keep on being rock solid. Once again: creating these threads (especially the PG) is a lot of work. While we watch that dunk replay during the game, bisme is hunting Twitter for a video for this thread. You go grab a beer, he's still hunting Twitter (all while thinking of a title for the thread).

A huge thanks to both.

Pritch was AMAZING !!! Luke Kornet and Jordan Walsh played very well. A Celtic win is a Celtic win.

An Alternative Perspective:

Points + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed Field Goals - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+30.5 Payton Pritchard 38 minutes

+17.5 Luke Kornet 30 minutes
+14 Jordan Walsh 21 minutes
+12.5 Sam Hauser 29 minutes

+6 Baylor Scheierman 36 minutes
+5.5 Neemias Queta 26 minutes
+4.5 JD Davison 17 minutes
+2 Mike Norris 12 minutes
+1 Drew Peterson 12 minutes
-1.5 Torrey Craig

Team Total = 92

rip, I totally missed this game because it was early and my brain didn't make the connection that it was a Sunday game. Oh well. I was hoping for Baylor to have a big game but it looks like that didn't happen.

PP's a bad boy for the second game in a row. Makes the games about him and then avoids giving any credit or recognition to Baylor. Even was asked about what he had to say to JD and Baylor in situations like this--and shifted to saying that JD and Jordan about won the game for them. No acknowledgment at all of Baylor.

Good win, did love it. Came here ready to vote for Pritchard and Queta, but pleasantly surprised I could vote for a 3rd as well, so voted Kornet.

It was a rock fight after the first 15 -- 20 minutes of game time, but hat tip to Queta for being active and physical down the stretch.

And after what I thought was a particularly horrific TO with maybe 3 or 3:30 minutes left in the 4th (weird/off/sloppy entry pass to Queta), good to see Walsh step up and stick the basically game-winning 3. JD a couple big shots as well. Nothing epic or that will change anything, but nice job by these guys doing what they needed to do to close the RS on a positive note.

Now.

Congrats to the guys on a b2b 60+ win season. I truly believe we should win the title, however I dunno if Porzingod will be able to stay healthy to help JT as JB will be hurt. JT will have a crazy playoff run, imo.
Good assessment:

Went Baylor out of habit for these types of games lately. I did think he played well other than the shooting. The highlight pass to PP was one he should have just shot, though. Pritchard saved his (p)ass by adjusting.

Walsh might be on the Kornet path. Last year Luke was "soooo close" to making good plays but only really completed them ~50% of the time. Now he's maybe 86% of the time. Walsh is at 50% (or less) now. Dude is so close to making that monster jam (a few months ago), the nice driving layup (last night) or just getting his hands on a few more rebounds, or sealing off that drive on D, but isn't quite finishing the deal. With regular minutes he could get there still. I liked the aggressiveness last night, much better than his previous outing.
