I predicted a 4-game sweep and still hold to that. Boston won by double digits and still consider that game a close game until Boston pulled away. Would like to see some adjustments on guarding Banchero. An occasional trap/blitz package to get him out of rhythm. He seemingly walked into calm jumpers all night.
Would like to see more Hauser and PP in the lineup with Tatum. Give Tatum more space to operate. Hauser for only 9 minutes was disappointing for me. Spacing Spacing Spacing will help loosen up Orlando's paint cloggage.

Need to amp up that playoff mentality. Game 1 felt like a reg season game. Orlando brought the physicality and the C's need to match it! Expect a better overall effort from JT, JB and our Centers. Zinger was way off in game 1, lets see how we come out Wed night.... Go C's

Yes, more space. And more high PnR with JT facilitating. It's our #1 thing and we didn't use it as frequently yesterday (I get why with Orlando's defenders but don't want them to dictate style of play).

From ORL standpoint, you already:
• limited BOS's top 3 scorers to 38 combined pts on 44 shots, 1/12 from 3.
• limited BOS to about 9% below their 3pt attempt rate.
• got 80% of the referees' calls go your way.
• injured the opposing superstar while airborne.
• limited Kornet to just 2 pts and 1 reb.
• got an A+ game from your top star.
...but still lost by 17 pts. You should be concerned esp since BOS has been better on the road than at home. If I'm them, this is the game to get at all costs. Our guys better be ready.

game 2 against MIA last year: home loss (10 points)
game 2 against CLE last year: home loss (24 points!)
game 2 against IND last year: home win! (16 points)
game 2 against DAL last year: home win! (7 points)
the pattern is simple. Cs by 71

Maybe it was posted in another thread, but did y’all see Joe telling the staff not to go help Tatum and then yelled at Tatum to get up off the floor? Joe is a wild dude man. Joe is like, “did you die?”
TBH if someone did pass out there, Joe might have said, “get your zombie ahh up, SHOW NO WEAKNESS!”

Joe can’t coach Lebron with all the flopping around. Probably gonna get thrown out for assaulting his own player lol.

Play Craig over Kornet if you want to rest Porzingis and Al... We need more shooting againt ORL. I would`t mind Hauser getting some more minutes and maybe even Baylor getting his first playoff minutes...

Orlando was the 3rd worst in ppg during the regular season.
That means their offense is mediocre at best.
While I understand more shooting will be good for the offense, going small with Sam or Craig will allow the Magic to get offensive rebounds.
I think it's still best to go big and limit Orlando's FGA by not giving them offensive rebounds.

Play Hauser over Kornet
Hauser 9 minutes - 3 defensive rebounds (some minutes are garbage time where he did nothing) +9
Kornet 11 minutes - 1 offensive rebound (did not play in garbage time) -7
Hauser minutes were good in the 3rd. It is when we opened the big lead. One play was really fun - block by Hauser and a transition 3 by PP

It will be up to Joe.
But one game where Sam had more rebounds than Luke does not erase all the good that Luke has done this season.
Celts in 2023 struggled against the Magic because of the size of the Magic.
Only way this Magic team has a shot at beating the Cs is if they win the battle on the boards and get multiple 2nd chances by getting offensive rebounds.

True. One game means nothing
But in the one game we won so far, we played better with a lone big (Al) with JT and Hauser or 3 guards (Jrue, White, PP). JT was huge on the boards
I am rooting for Kornet to do well. He just didn't play well in this game. He is usually utilized on offense in the high P&R with JT, which we didn't use too much. And on defense he was switched to defend Banchero who got easy baskets
If this will be the story in the coming game - I prefer playing Hauser

loved it
R1 G1 is the time to be building habits that you get knocked down you get back up
by the time we get to the ECF I want Tatum doing knuckle pushups
non-toxic masculinity stay home!

I agree. Kornet is looking unplayeable this series. Maybe against the knicks or cavs he can be effective, but not this series. I think this is the perfect opportunity to play craig. He plays tough abd has experience.

I think the Cs can play 9 men.
So I think Sam's minutes will not really diminish if Luke plays.
It's when Sam and Craig plays that will affect Luke's playing time.
I prefer Luke over Craig in this series.

The Celtics just have to do what they do to win. The Magic have to do more than what they do.

Give Luke until the 1st half of Game 3.
If Luke is still not effective then go in another direction.

why Craig? Hauser played only 9 minutes. He is a good 2 way player with sometimes a real heater. At minimum as I said, Sam provides the best spacing.
