I don't have any gripes against either of these teams -- both are poverty franchises (Knicks more than the Pistons, who haven't been relevant since late 2000s.), but yeah destroy them. Don't let it get past 5.

hoping for a game 7, may the best team win! I Like The C's chances with either group, but def expecting a battle..... Cavs vs Indy isn't going to be a walk in the park either. Lets see what Cleveland's made out of?! Go C's

Celtics currently 20-5 in the playoffs since the start of 2024 run. Got to be close to an all time best.
Technically 23-6 going back to game 4 of ‘23 Heat series but I don’t want to talk about that one too much lol

beyond this, nothing is known.
We are beating the Knicks or Pistons. In 4, 5, or maybe 6.
Enjoy it. Relish it. Then gear up for that which will be recorded one way or another in the NBA history books!

Have they released potential first game dates (i.e. if Knicks / Pistons goes 6 vs. 7 when does our series start)?

The NBA announced the dates for the second round of the playoffs.
The Celtics will face the winner of the Knicks-Pistons series on May 5, 7, 10, 12, 14*, 16*, and 19*.
Steve Bulpett
NBA releases Eastern Conference semifinal series dates.
Celtics will be getting a lo-o-o-ong break before hosting the Knicks or Pistons next Monday.
This allows league to set schedules now, making moot whether New York-Detroit goes to a Game 7 Saturday.
Omari Sankofa II
Game 1 of DET/NYK vs Boston in the semifinals is scheduled for May 5. If Pistons-Knicks goes seven games, winning team will have just one day to prepare for the Celtics.

I'd rather play the Knicks. The Pistons are more like Orlando in that there is a greater risk of injury if we have to play them. That's particularly true if Isaiah Stewart's knee gets better.
Meanwhile, against the Knicks, we can hunt Brunson unmercifully for as many games as it takes.
