Welcome to Boston, Josh Minott!

I didn't see this coming.
We're now at 15 guys on standard contracts.
That's the maximum.
I figured we'd only roll with 14..why go with 15 and spend the extra $ during a bridge year?
I bet someone (either Simons, Hauser or Niang) is about to get traded..
Or maybe Walsh...with Minott on board and Hugo drafted, we don't need more young project wings with suspect shooting. So maybe Walsh gets traded for a 2nd rounder?
I suppose we could also trade JD to get back down to 14 players on the standard roster.
But again, Walsh seems like the obvious guy to get traded (or waived) here since we don't need 3 young project wings with suspect shooting..Hugo and Minott were both just acquired. Walsh has been here for 2 years and has done very little so I think he might get traded or waived very soon..

Welcome. It's pronounced MY-not, apparently. That's all I know about that.

I'd hoped to keep Walsh around this year, but yeah this looks pretty redundant. Minott only played 6 minutes last year, and I saw none of them, but that's about the same as Walsh with better 3pt shooting.

Numbers are really good…smallish sample size.

No way the cost-cutting C's are going to a 15-man roster without soon dropping it back down again. Who's out first?

Wow. Only 22 and yet over 90% on FTs for 3 years in the league? I take that to mean his 3-ball has significant room to grow, and he already has a career .597 TS%. Good high-flyer stats for blocks and boards at a young age too. Strong positive on advanced defensive stats.
What am I missing on him?

Nothing, I’ve been told this guy is a sure fire player so good on ya Brad.

Born in FL, but plays for the Jamaican national team. C's continue their global flavor.

93 games in the NBA over 3 years is good enough for me.

I'm over Walsh.

It's as if Brad walks down the street and doesn't see a penny on the ground, he sees an 1849 silver dollar.

I mean, that's only on like 40 free throw attempts.
In college, on just 65 FTA, he was at 75%. Seems like maybe some upside to shoot it better.
But his 3PA volume has always been very low (in college and NBA) and you watch high highlights with the wolves and he really looks to attack the basket rather than shoot the jumper. Maybe he'll develop more confidence in his 3 here in Boston. But I wouldn't count on it.
Looks kind of like a Brissett type. But younger so higher upside..

Per minute numbers, going back to his one year at Memphis, say he has a high motor, is productive but a little reckless or otherwise rough around the edges defensively, and his three point shot appears to be a work in progress. nbadraft.net capsule effectively says the same, and clarifies that he struggled laterally on defense while struggling with shooting form on offense.
In college, was a good FT shooter but barely took any 3s (and shot 14% when he did). In the NBA, has been a 90% FT shooter (37-41). But first two seasons, he shot 30% from 3 in the G League, last season he shot 32% in small minutes in the NBA.
Some will point to the FT shooting and say he has promise as a three point shooter, but I'm not so sure. Shooting ability often improves, but hang-ups that prevent shooting ability from translating to game situations can be more complicated.
For the price, IMO he is probably a good player with the potential to develop into a great role player. I am guessing he will be battling it out for a role with Jordan Walsh, one will render the other moot if they step their game up enough.

I’m in as an upgrade to Walsh.
OR if the Cs are challenged to take on the G league
Honestly maybe the plan is to come up with fake injuries for JB and DW most of the season?
Let the kids have the run of the place

He and Garza have the same standing reach.
