Can we at least agree that losing at home to Washington means we should be 100% on board with tanking!! I mean has there been a worse franchise for a decade now?

What does 100% on board mean? Are we trading players for picks to get worse? Sam for a second? Trade White or Pritchard? You really want to tank trade Queta for a second and start Garza. Do you want to do that?

LOL.. I guess I mean play the young players with Promise far more extensively. and 100%, I was meaning that we as fans on here should agree that would be the best move long term. No one should be hoping or expecting this team to go into the playoffs and do any damage. This is a reset year. and Hopefully e can acquire a serious young talent. The type of talent that we will need to compete in the next few years with OKC and SAS.

Hopefully we get back to playing basketball for four quarters....Thought the 3 pt mentality would have changed with an entirely different roster, no way our BIGS should be chucking threes , they should be learning how to box out and rebound first! PP needs to come off the bench and White snap out of it, everything's forced right now.

I think we all agree it's a reset year... even those like myself who are not overly concerned with draft position.

What is the best path forward is a topic the board will never all agree on.

I would like to see Minott and Hugo get more minutes. I don't agree that will lead to more losses.

Baylors not young, I don't see much promise in Amari or Walsh. I assume late seconds are worthless until proven otherwise. I don't see much value in feeding these guys minutes.

The guy the Celtics should be focused on developing is Anfernee Simons!!!!

Simons is trying to be a team player.

I don't know if that's a good thing.

Joe should just unleash Simons.

Not at all. Tank talk is way too early. We aren't even 10 games into the season. This team can win two straight and be back to the .500.

Agree.

JB is going to try to play 65 games so that he'll qualify for All-NBA teams.

If there's really nothing to look forward to then tank during the last 30 games of the season.

Right now it's too early.

That would be unfortunate.

Being a .500 team is the worst place to be - too good for a high draft pick or a chance to move into the top 4 picks with some lottery luck..and not good enough to contend for a title.

Even worse spot to be in a season like this, with such a loaded draft class coming up.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I'm all for getting a top 10 pick in the draft this season. The team needs to add talent in a big way. We lost too much talent in the off season. One way of doing that of course is getting a top 10 pick in a deep draft.

When the Cs won 3 straight, the talk of a lottery pick died down.

Now that the Cs lose 2 straight, it's lottery time again!

We will know for sure after trade deadline.

What Brad will do or don't do, until trade deadline, will dictate what direction the team is headed.

Potetiinally generational draft with zero chamce at winning title.

Only one logical outcome.

It looks like a great draft…but what really are the tiers? There looks like a pretty clear top 3 that is top prospects in any draft, and then we have really good options down into the late teens. There might be some tiers in that group, but it seems like being a .500 team this year you still have a good shot at drafting a stud. Top 20 feels like top 10 most years, and it seems deeper than last year.
That said sure you’d rather have a lotto shot at one of those top 3, I won’t be mad if we are picking in the teens.

I wrote about it on another thread - but great to have this stats back me up

Something is wrong with these players. Every scrub hits about 50% on wide open 3s. Out players also hit 50% on wide open 3s - it is just a shame we end up on the 50% miss side more often :banghead:

The players we have now are ready to win another chip within the next 2-3 years.

So I don't understand the fascination of lottery picks.

Just look at Cooper Flagg.
Flagg is supposed to be a generational talent like Lebron.
So far Flagg has been underwhelming.
14 points per game?
Really???

How about the #1 pick Risacher?
He's certainly not looking like a #1 pick right now.

If Brad wanted lottery picks then he would have traded DWhite last June.

The better option is to surround the Jays with the right pieces.
We don't need another star player.
What the Cs need now are complementary players.

There's just too much luck involved when it comes to lottery picks.

I would be mad at picking in the teens personally.

I want to set this franchise up for sustainable (under new CBA) Greatness and I personally see a pretty substantial drop in Talent outside the top 10 or so guys.

There are 3 clear cut superstar potential guys at the top
Peterson (Kobe)
AJ (McGrady)
Boozer (Chris Webber)

Then into the next tier which is clearly a step behind
Peat
Ament

and the rest
Lopez
Cenac
Yessoufou
Wilson
Quaintance
Lendeborg
Brown Jr

Don't know much about anyone else, just done some reading on the above dudes.
