To the guy that made a false claim of a 10 game suspension just to get traffic on his website.....way to go.........

I wonder what reprimands the officials will get for that botch job of a decision. To have three guys totally miss what happened and assign the same penalty in the game for both players was outrageous. It was bad enough that they fell asleep on the original tackle, but to then arbitrarily penalize Ray Allen for nothing (what did they even say he did?) was dangerous. What would have happened if it was earlier in the game and the Celtics lost? Considering the time of the game and the score, the intent was obvious and as Ray Allen said he could have been hurt. The NBA penalty was weak but the game officiating with that decision was as bad as it gets.

one game?...he could have really injured Ray Allen with that cheap shot...the NBA is clueless.

I think it's rather fair. If it were a Celtic player who did the same thing we'd be saying how soft the league has become. I think anywhere from 1-3 games was fair. 1 game was on the small end of that scale, but that's just good fortune for Lamar. I must say I did expect a penalty to go with the suspension without pay if it were on the 1 or 2 game end, but that didn't happen.

i think one game is good enough, two is probably better but it's a man's game. odom crossed the line. he should get a game or two.

It's very possible that if the officials ejected him in the game like they should have we wouldn't have any kind of suspension news today. I think this is more to correct what should have been done than the league making a statement. Not saying I agree it should be handled that way, but it looks like it certainly was.
I'm also glad to see no Celtics were suspended for standing up from the bench. I don't recall if any Laker players left, but since nothing came of it I'm glad to see none of them were suspended either. This was all Lamar...

I think this is a joke. Last year Kobe got one game twice for waving his arms in a "non-basketball" manner. What Lamar did was absurd and as non-hoops as you can get. Lamar wasn't even playing basketball when he did that and the NBA should be ashamed of itself for failing to deal with this correctly.

Weak, way too short. Odom was extremely out of line with this play, If we compare it to all the actions that received suspensions over the past three years, it's worse than most. This should've been a multiple game suspension.
Frankly, if the NBA won't do much about it, next time we play the Lakers, we should send Powe out to level Odom, or maybe Kobe. Let's see if the NBA keeps to it's one game suspension guns.

Presumably it was his way of making a statement about the starters still playing all-out at that late point in a blowout.
And the announcers said the tech against Ray was for some things he said in response to getting a rugby tackle like that. Pretty stupid --- who wouldn't have said the same?
Lamar certainly deserves the suspension --- that tackle was totally outrageous and could well have led to injury. Two games wouldn't have been out of line either, but it's a relief to see him get at least one, and assessed a flagrant two.

If we retaliate our guy will get a bigger suspension and that's just common sense. It would have nothing to do with the Celtics and if you want to refer to precedent there's plenty for what happens to those that retaliate in any situation for a suspension to us to be held against.

Odom deserved a heavier penalty than what the league has given him. IIRC, he even laughed about what he did showing no remorse whatsoever.

Odom was doing all he could do. On the basketball court we pulled those tiny shorts down and gave them a spanking in front of their home town fans. We embarressed them.
This is all Odom could do to regain his lost basketball manlyness, tackle the little guy. It is just about as effective as their basketball strategy. No Odom's real punishment is that he goes home and knows he's a loser, that the Lakers are losers. It is a punishment we delivered before the tackle.
One game is plenty. A loser's worst punishment is the mirror. We won't see them again this year. The team psche has been destroyed.

The good thing is that he's suspended without pay, so that cheap shot cost him about $120K. Happy Holidays Lamar
