Start Big Baby

when he comes back
No offense to Perk, but he is a frickin moron. We need to have a starting center who has a brain in his head. Sure Baby is only about 6 foot 7, but he makes up for that. Perk meanwhile seems to give up easily on the boards and plays like he has two left feet.

I'm not so sure that if you called Perk a 'frickin' moron' to his face that he would not take offense!
I'd keep bringing Baby off the bench for now, maybe it works out that Baby is on the floor in the 4th Q where he can use his skills and FT ability. Right now he has the surprise factor where a lot of teams don't know what he's capable of. Of course, opposing coaches telling their players "keep Davis at least 8 feet from the basket" is easier said than done.
I wouldn't rock the boat with a lineup change. Not at 29-4.

You want to put baby at starting center? He's way too small and will get abused down low. You can't put him at starting PF because KG doesn't like center. Keep him on the bench and let him help our offense when we don't have the starters in.

Baby is so much better at finishing under the basket then Perk though. Paul Pierce seems more comfortable dishing when he's in the game as well because of that. How many times have we seem Rondo, KG and Paul pass the ball to Perk and he front rims it.

IMO, Davis is a better player than Perkins. But I would still start Perkins because of his defensive presence in the middle. Perkins' rebounding has also gotten better in the last 2-3 weeks.
That being said, Davis needs to play more consisantly and more often. Davis should get about 20-25 minutes a night instead of about 10-12. Pollard and Posey need to play less.

Perkins is WAAAAAY better defensively. Offense is sexy but defense wins. And I don't see Perk having too much trouble finishing at the rim. He isn't quite as good as Baby but he's no Blount.

CFAN, way to small to start. He is a role player. Baby playing 35 minutes a night kills us on defense. Perk is the correct player to start.

Perkins presense will make teams adjust to him. He offers Defense and is that banger in the paint that can throw teams off.
Big Baby would have a better advantage matching up with oppossing teams second units. He's a great offensive player that could add points while PGA are resting.

Perks is fine starting at Center, brings defense, rebounding and attitude. We don't need more offense with the starters, the big 3 are good enough offensively. Baby's offense on a 2nd unit which needs it is more valuable.

This might be a go to plan in the playoffs when there's a favorable matchup (like Detroit), but over the regular season it would kill KG.

Perk ftw

First off, he's too small. He doesn't make up for it. He can't really jump.
Second off, Perk is way more valuable as a starter than he would be as a role player. He isn't a defensive stop guy necessarily. He's more of consistent shut down defender down low. Sure he'll get abused once in a while. But Pierce got absolutely taken last night, and I don't want Tony Allen starting.

Perk needs to start playing effectively. I would welcome some change after what I have seen him.

No, Perk provides exactly what we need, defense and rebounding. We don't need twenty point scorers at every position.

What part of 29-4 would we be fixing if Big Baby starts for Perk?

Did I miss something? Can someone please explain to me why Perk is a frickin moron? Please don't tell me that we lost the game because of him or that it was because of Nazr did yesterday because Perk barely matched up with him (he had Okafor) and when he did they mostly ran they exploited our horrible pick and roll defense which he is supposed to blitz the man. Oh and he also grabbed 10 boards what more do you want from him. As for the giving up on the boards, he does do that but if he fought for it would probably get called as a foul. We don't need him to score just to help set up our offense which he does.
Our whole team just got outplayed!

...everyone falls in love with offense...Perkins is one of the main reasons this team is playing so well defensively...Perk and KG are the only two players who even showed up to play last night...
Perk is has started rebounding again too, averaging around 9 per game over his last 10 games and playing about 24mpg...
If Davis was starting the opposing center would work him down low and shoot over him every time...people are giving Davis credit for defense on Wallace, but Wallace took 2 shots against Davis in the 4th quarter and didn't touch the ball much...
Davis' offense is what's needed off the bench, Perk and Rondo make sense in the starting lineup because they are focussed defensively...Davis Allen and House provide the offense for the 2nd unit...

Well I like Perkins toughness but I just wish he could catch the ball, we need Baby off the bench though. Lets get Powe some PT
