Celtics getting screwed over?

Post#1 » by Pats19andO » Sun Jan 13, 2008 11:33 pm

Am I the only one who noticed the refs lately hav not been calling the game fairly. The Charlotte game was complete bull. And last night the shot clock non call on Caron.

Yes, you're the only one.

on general board there's a topic about Celtics being Wade 2.0. I haven't been watching all that many games lately, so I'm not sure, Detroit game seemed ok.

try watching some games that don't involve the Celtics, then when you do watch the Celtics, mute them and listen to the radio broadcast.

Two weeks away from Tommy's bitching and that should do the trick.

NBA refs suck for every team in the league.

the reffing does seem particularly bad this year. maybe it's because we actually want to win games that i'm noticing. i don't think it's been one-sided, we've gotten just as many calls for us as against us, but it's just been piss-poor overall. i can't believe some of the calls that have been missed.

Seemed bad in the pistons game at first...felt like Darrell Garretson reffing Celtics/Pistons games in the late 80's, letting the Pistons just molest everyone at will on the perimiter. Same thing like Jordan's Bulls in the 90's, Bulls get to go inside the other team's jock, but if the opponent looks at a shooter a foul is called...

anyone catch the end of the laker game? WOW. kwame laid out poor kyle lowry on a drive to the hoop with seconds left, refs swallowed the whistle. lakers win by 1.

i know the NBA is the toughest sport to ref, but gez there's got to be some accountability here.

I feel like the refs screw us on a regular basis, but I know it's probably just bias on my part. I do know they suck though, the calls are so inconsistent from game to game or even quarter to quarter I'm not sure how anyone can know how to defend. Consistency and accountability would go a long way towards improving the reffing, but I don't see it happening.

Please watch your language. Thank you.

I watch other games and calls are always bad in every game, but the refs seem to be keeping the games close on purpose to not embarrass other teams. what else can it be ?

there are bad calls and then there are blatant bad calls that make no sense and the celtics have been getting many of those.

also it seems KG isnt getting respect from refs that a guy his status should be getting. you breathe on shaq and you are called for a foul, KG has been called for countless questionable foul calls keeping him out of games very very very early on.

to me the calls look like its to keep games close so the celts dont run away with the game and people arent complaining and on the end of a snooze fest.

when I see the celts get a call they shouldn't I call it, but its been so obvious that so many calls have been called very wrong against the celts.

i agree. one would think that after all the going-ons this summer they the nba would have paid special attention to the refs and try to make them as unnoticeable as possible. i wonder if there is any more fishy business going on?

How pathetic are we... Now we're blaming the refs? Even when the refs were betting on games, they were calling the games evenly. They just were shifting the points by either calling the game tight or loose.

Geez.. How low can we go?

Hate to troll, but if you think the last play with the arm was an offensive foul, you probably haven't watched every single ball handling superstar in the league pull that one off for decades.

It wasn't a pushoff.. he was past Pierce when the forearm came up.

Also KG went over the back on Haywood for that tip, held Butler to prevent the steal when Butler knocked the ball away from him and I've never seen so many charges called on one team. If the offensive guy is already in the air he has to be allowed to land. I will give the Celtics credit for hussling there a$$es off though, even if they weren't all legit charges some definitely were and that's hussle and smarts.

I personally think officiating overall has actually been much better this year and other than the early Raptors game that went to overtime and the first orlando game we haven't had any particularyl egregious games against (haven't watched the wizards games yet)
