Can we please stop?

Post#1 » by ARB729 » Tue Jan 15, 2008 3:27 am

This is embarrassing. It's a loss. Guess what, we're not going to win 70 games. The NBA is too good as a whole and we are not good enough. Please stop saying stupid **** that makes no sense. We are only attracting fans from other boards to talk noise about us. Just cut the **** guys.

Great post. On that note I'm getting out of here so people can get it out of their systems.

Seriously. It doesn't bother me if people raise concerns or questions, but when it's phrased in such a dire way, as if this loss would cause them to self-destruct on their way to work the next morning ... then people really need to get a life.

Gorman said it best last night:

If you're about to jump off a bridge after a 30-5 start ... it's not the Celtics, it's your life.

Topic of the week. Everyone just needs to put everything into overall perspective. They're 30-6. You'd think for a bunch of fans that were cheering on losses last year, everyone would be able to take a little slump more easily this year. Just be glad we're not counting on ping pong balls anymore.

If we go 30-16 from here we win 60 games........that also means we will lose 16 more times.
I despise fans that cheer on a team from up north or one that resembles a dinosaur. oh wait...

We have the best record in the league. But we aren't the best team in the league. Look at how we have played the last 2 weeks. Outside of the Detroit game, we haven't played too well. We lost 3 of our last 4 games. We blew an 18 point led to Houston w/o T-Mac, at home. He barely won that game by 4. We struggled to beat Memphis at home by only four.

We haven't scored over 30 points in a quarter in 27 quarters now. We are one of the worst offensive rebounding teams in the league. And when your outside shooting in off, we are one and done.

So no, we aren't the best team in the league. We were the first 2 months of the season, but this game is about what have to done lately. It's also about winning in the playoffs. This team will struggle in a 7 games series with any playoff team because we have a coach that isn't able to adjust to match ups.

Agreed. Just a loss.

But.

This was a sad kind of a loss. Sad because the answer was so clear and yet Doc ignored it. Or more sad, just missed it.

Tony Allen clearly changed the game in the 4th quarter. We obviously did our best when we were penerating on offense and pressuring on D. We're klling those guys and then, it stops. Doc gets Tony out and puts House and Ray as our backcourt. When these two guys aren't dead on with their shots it's Offense Suicide. What we needed was more Tony and maybe some Rondo. It was working perfectly so why f**k with it? C'mon Doc, pay attention.

Guys, Washington wanted it more tonight. That was obvious and Butler played out of his mind in the end. We just need to say, "good game" and move on to Portland. I just woke up this morning and realized, holy smokes, the sun did come up. Wow, it is not the end of the world. Thank god.

I haven't watched the Washington game or had a chance to read the many comments but I have seen some suggest they are a bad team b/c they don't have Arenas, which I think ignoes an awful lot of things.

a) they are a very veteran squad. Every year a couple teams surprise everyone b/c they have a lot of guys with moderate, but not superstar, resumes and people write them off. Washington and Indiana fall under this mode. Vet teams.

b)That being said they still have two borderline all star type guys. The Charleotte loss is the only one where I thought to myself we loss to a team that genuinely isn't that talented.

thank you for saying this!!! i was scared to come on this board today because i knew there would be sooo many over-reactionary posts!! This is what teams go through.. a stumble, a bump and they are going to fix it. I would much rather have this happen now than in May personally. We have all been spoiled the past few months but this happens to every team. I think the reason we are all overreacting is because of what Donnie said last night which was "i would have imagined this happening in the beginning of the year not now" but it happens. IMO what you are seeing are lack of practice time, and other teams finally figuring us out. We had the kuxury of teams not knowing how to scout us in the beginning of the year, well guess what.. THEY DO NOW and now we will see just how good our team is. Do you think Detroit is ready to jump because they lost to us, than Dallas, beat the Spurs and get smashed by the Knicks? No they go back to the drawing board and go back to what works.
The one positive about this though is it will inevitably force Danny to add and make adjustments either now-Feb or DEFINETLY this summer. This is not a one yr plan guys...
