OT - Kwame Brown
Did anyone watch the Suns/Lakers game last night? I didn't, but JA Adande basically devoted an entire chat to this today.
I was just wondering if it was as bad as it sounds. I guess he was booed every time he touched the ball, by his own fans. it sounded like one of the saddest things to watch in a long time

Kwame Brown was basically an error-making machine. Turnovers of every size, shape and colour and an incredibly missed dunk were the highlights, but the kid was awful looked from any angle. Phil Jackson didn't help the cause: I guess that in order to have the kid learn from the experience, he didn't sub him when he had the chance. The crowd booed Brown mercilessly; he deserved every single boo, but at the same time

Brown is a complete bust. It does not help his cause that he was traded for Butler who is headed in the complete opposite direction. With that said you just do not boo your own player when he has the ball. What good is that going to do?

Let's trade for him!!!!
j/k
anyway i thought that was pretty **** of Laker fans to gang up on that kid. he's not a bad kid, he tries, he doesn't get in trouble, he just had the misfortune of ridiculous expectations because of being a #1 pick. that's not his fault. i actually think he is an ok backup C in a league where the C position is thin. definitely a bust for a #1 pick, but still an ok player. for isntance i still think he is better than mihm.

I felt bad for the guy. Being a draft junkie I followed him closely after getting drafted and remembered thinking Washington could not be doing a worse job handling a young kid. I feel like if Doc had been Kwame's first coach he would be in much better shape psychologically. I criticize Doc but at least he isn't a ruthless guy and seems unwilling to destroy a guy to further his own career (unless you are ungrateful and named Marcus Banks)..

Jeering one of their own
Doug Collins was Kwame Brown's first NBA head coach. "I thought his upside was tremendous," Collins said of the former No. 1 overall pick (2001) out of high school. "Offensively, Kwame has always been in a hurry and he does not have great hands. When you magnify being in a hurry and not having great hands, he misses a lot of shots around the basket." Those comments came Thursday night, with Collins in the TNT broadcast booth for the Lakers-Suns game. In 25 minutes, Brown had 8 points, 6 rebounds, and a ghastly 7 turnovers as the Lakers lost. So those great Lakers fans booed Brown every time he touched the ball. Yes, the game was in Los Angeles. That did not go over well with a lot of Brown's teammates. "I thought it was terrible," Kobe Bryant said. "If they want to do that, they can stay home." The sensitive Brown left without speaking to reporters. Jackson said he had never seen a situation where a hometown crowd turned on one of its own.

I dont care what any of you say if all your co workers watched your everymove and not only that kep sayin your gunna screw up an that you suck I would be a million dollars you would crack under the pressure as well. That being said he was not worth the first pick. But he can rebound and play man on man d. I would take him for the vet min next year. With all the POSITIVE veteran leadership on this team who would stick up for a teammate who was being heckeld by their own teams fansn I think he would do alright, LA fans have no class. I and I would like to think we are real sports fans and would have more class than them to boo our on player who is their only starting center they have.
