Very impressive performance by another of Danny's draft steals:

Yet another testament to his drafting skills IMO.

Yup, a career high in points.

Anyway we could sign him back this off season? 8)

Getting him back next year is def something to think about. Salary wise, I think we could use the MLE on him. If we were to get him, I'd want to lock him up long term, say 30 mil over 6 years. I think he might bite on that deal, if we can give him minutes. If Posey is not back next year then Gomes can take his playing time. Even if Posey is back, a Posey, Gomes, House bench is not bad. If we could get Sam Cassel for the min of LLE and Gomes for the MLE I think that would have to be looked at as a solid offseason.

I really wound not be surprised if Danny told Gomes he didn't want to trade him and he would offer him a good deal in the offseason when he made the KG deal.

I hate to spoil the party, but ESPN lists Gomes as a restricted free agent.

Which means the Wolves have the right to match any contract that Gomes signs, and he's still a Wolve.

I don't see how Gomes would fit on this team. Posey is a better fit at the 3 because of his defense, intangibles and 3-point shooting. Big Baby/Powe are as good or better at the backup pf spot also because of their defense/rebounding and they are much cheaper as well. I also doubt the we're using all of the MLE this off season seeing how we're already over the luxury tax and need to resign House/TA and either resign Pollard or sign somebody else for the backup center spot.

Gomes isn't going anywhere. Like you said he is a RFA and i think we have Bird Rights so i think it there is a very good chance he resigns in Minnesota.

Ryan has really come together this last 1-2 months. He started off the year kinda slow but has really turned it around. Not to mention he is a great "Glue Guy" for a young team. I was very excited to get Ryan in the deal. He works hard every min he is out there

Should be pretty exciting for you guys on Friday as the Former Celtics come back to town. Probably will be an azz whooping but i am looking forward to see how our guys play being back in Boston.

For myself, i can't wait for Feb 8th. I am flying up to Minny to see KG back at Target Center.

Gomes has been pretty productive this month period, and really capped if off today. He's always had it in him to be a productive player, really. He's not a good defensive player, but he works hard on both ends of the floor. He's a plus for the team, but until everyone starts putting up production, that team will still see some L's before some W's. Good game today though, no doubt.

I was going to post this too. Big props to Ryan and his career high of 35 points. In his last 6 games now, Gomes and scored 20 or more on 4 og those games. Gomes is averaging 20.5 points in his last 6 games.

I wish we could get him back because he is a lot better than Posey. But Ryan wouldn't get too many minutes here behind Pierce. I'm happy Gomes is ballin in Minny. Props to him and Jefferson!

Alot better fantasy player - or alot better player..?

Posey defends better - and shoots 3's that makes him a great fit for our team. It's hard to imagine we would win more games with Gomes..

I haven't seen many of your guys' games but, has Posey been that much of a difference?

If you call great going 8 out of 30 from 3's in his last 11 games. Posey is an average rebounder, average scorer, and an overratted 1 on 1 defender. When Posey's 3's aren't going, he is pretty much useless on offense.

What Posey brings is experience. He is a very good team defender and is great at taking charges. He is also a good leader on the floor. He is a valuable asset to this team. But overall, Ryan Gomes is a better basketball player.

you are entitled to your opinion

i feel Posey's defense puts him ahead of Gomes in an argument such as this

I judge players by how much they can help a team win - not by their impact in box scores.. Posey is both a better one on one defender and team defender and defense is at least half the game.

if we traded Posey for Gomes I bet we would lose more games. Jefferson is a bigger fantasy machine then KG as well right? Would you trade KG for Jefferson again? <g>

On a few teams that are desperate for scoring Gomes might help more. Most GMS looking to win now would pick Posey. I bet Pat Riley wishes he had Posey back.

So in some games, Posey has been the difference between a win or a loss???

Well that's kind of impossible to tell - now isn't it? Posey has been a valuable contributor though and we are winning like crazy.
