Jefferson had a career-high 39 points and 15 rebounds, and the Timberwolves won two in a row for the first time this season, 117-107 over the Western Conference leaders on Wednesday night.

Great to see Al Jefferson doing good things in Minnesota. Minnesota has taken 2 of 3 from Phoenix this year![/quote]

Big game. 8 offensive rebounds is crazy.

Big Al owns Amare..

Al is good but it's not surprising against Amare "I'm working hard defensively but still I'm pathetic" Stoudemire. He gives up career highs to big men left and right.

Alright Big Al for abusing Amare.

Opposing centers tend to have average to above average days against Amare. He's on my fantasy team. Let's just say that when one of my other big men are involved in a game against Phoenix, I tend to have a big night from my centers. (2 center league) Andrew Bogut is another recent example......

EDIT: This commentary was not meant to diminish Big Al's big game. Good to see the number of free throws for the big fella.

and amare had 33... they cancel each other out. al is no where near the same defensive player KG is.

can we ever talk about Al without comparing him to KG?

I love Al, he's his own player, and I think he is a future All Star in this league.

HOWEVER

part of me worries if Al is the next Zach Randolph. Someone who needs the ball to have any effect on the game, and someone who will put up big numbers but not help his team win... I just don't know, and I think only time will tell.

I hope Al improves on defence and gets better at sharing the ball and recognizing when he's double or triple teamed....then people will be comparing him to Elton Brand....with the right coaching and in the right situation, Big Al will make his mark on this league...He's already established himself as a walking double double....Ad these other charicteristics to his game and he will surely be something special....

Ouch, Zack Randolph? He will surpass Zack if he hasn't already.

There was no stopping Big AL last night. Pretty much every shot was going down for him. He was pumped.

Simply put... Al owns Amare and the Suns. He would look so nice next to KG right now.

it kinda sucks to say but i agree. that just seems to be a good comparison to me. i do think that style of player can win you games when placed in the right situation though.

this is OT, but how would you build your team around big al?? i think we all know youd need a defensive-mined center(think Camby, Tyson Chandler as A++ options). what type of pg, shoot first, combo or strictly assist man? i ask because i think Minnesota has done a good job of putting the right players around him for the future.

PG- Pass first set up the offense get teh ball to al in good scoring positions
SG- Someone to Stretch the floor and play d on the perimeter
SF- Play d and provide offense through slashing and getting to the line
PF- Big Al
C- 100% defensive minded

the zach randolph comparissons make me giggle.

Randolph sits and pops 18 footers and makes 1 out of every 8 of them.

Al settles for what he knows, taking guys on the block.

Al shooting at a near 50% clip avging 20 pts and 12 boards

Headcase Zack is at 45% avging 17 pts and 10 boards.

I think the comparison is more along the lines of talented offensive bigman with below average defense.
