Rather pick up Damon then lose Ray Ray and Rondo.

Also if NJ is trading for anything its for youth.

I'm all for it. I'd pick up the phone.

What else is NJ going to get for Kidd that's better than one of the best shooting guards in the game and a PG building on a Kidd-type skill set?

I bet KG would've come to Boston to play with Kidd and Pierce.

I'm all for a Scalabrine/Kobe trade.

Scal for Kobe doesn't work in the trade checker.

Dang. Great idea, though.

Sign me up for the deal. Problem is there is no reason for the Nets to do it.

Not a chance. No problem with the Ray for Kidd part. But Rondo is more valuable right now than people are giving him credit. At the same time, I agree with others, that NJ has little reason to do it too.

We need to keep some young players for the future. I love Kidd, but he's only got a few good yrs left.

In 7 years of RealGM, this is probably the craziest, nuttiest suggestion that I've seen.

I can easily beat that! I will not be outdone when it comes to far-fetched ideas!

Celtics
Trades Glen Davis, Scot Pollard, James Posey and Ray Allen
Receives Luol Deng, Chris Duhon, Stromile Swift, Mike Miller and Antoine Wright

Bulls
Trades Luol Deng, Chris Duhon, Ben Gordon and Ben Wallace
Receives Ray Allen, Pau Gasol, Jamaal Magloire and Malik Allen

Grizzlies
Trades Mike Miller, Pau Gasol, Stromile Swift
Receives Scot Pollard, James Posey, Richard Jefferson and Bostjan Nachbar

Nets
Trades Richard Jefferson, Antoine Wright, Malik Allen, Jamaal Magloire and Bostjan Nachbar
Receives Glen Davis, Ben Gordon and Ben Wallace

[b]The Skinny[/u]

BOS Get a defender/mid-range shooter to solidify the starting five and make life easier, defensively, for Paul Pierce. Get ball-handling, outside shooting, underrated defender and a legitimate offensive threat swing-player to slot into the sixth man role. Get a back-up PG who can play a little defense, distribute the ball and run the sets. Get a shot-blocking athlete to rotate with the other bigs to maintain the paint. Get wing depth that is expiring.

CHI Defense hasn't been there problem; at least not to the extent that the offense has been atrocious. Get a post player who can actually score and pass. Get a guard that needs the ball in his hands but is a legitimate offensive threat when given those looks. Get forward and center depth, both expiring.

MEM Free up a ton of salary now, ~$9M this season alone, and another $3.2M-$6.6M at the end of the season and set themselves up for a potentially effective free agent haul over the summer. Get a wing scorer who is still young enough to run with the young core. Get two forwards who can spread the floor. Get big man depth.

NJ Potentially shed long-term salary while sacrificing a bit of it in the here and now. Get an offensive wing player. Get a defensive big man to tutor Sean Williams. Get a low-post prospect with some upside and enough 'right now' skills to contribute.

Likelihood Far-fetched but still crazier and nuttier than the other one in this thread.

Kidd's health is too much of a question mark and Rondo is still developing. And Ray Allen / Rajon Rondo has worked fine for us in the backcourt.

In the offseason, as long as TA has been looking good enough, I would actually consider trying to trade Ray Allen for Jose Calderon, if it was possible.
