They need a allstar scorer bad. Ray is still an allstar player he is just not adjusting well to being the third wheel. We also keep Rondo. All the alley oops to KG would be Amazing and Kidd finding PP on the break. It would work like clockwork for us. Plus Kidd and Ainge have a very close relationship going back to their Sun's days.

No, they need a low-post scoring big man bad, and with that trade, they're getting rid of their best in that department, not to mention their starting point guard.

They could then turn around and trad Gordon and Thomas for some low post scoring.

Aren't we already winning now? We do have the best record in the league by a pretty good margin right now.
And we have 2 sgs on our roster right now, who you trade for a pg. So who is going to play sg for us? Pierce and Posey would be our only wings left and they are both better suited playing sf.

Not for nothing but NJ sucks and one of the primary reasons is that Kidd isn't playing very well. FG% and scoring are down and turnovers are up.
Essentially we are trading Ray Allen and Rondo's production for Jason Kidd and Tony Allen's in the starting line up. I think you are going to end up with a lot less scoring more rebounds and assists and twice as many turnovers.
Beyond that it will disrupt what is working so well right now. We aren't having a problem getting Paul and KG the ball if you make this move you are allowing defenses to collapse on the post. The counter is to go with Eddie over Tony so then you get the shooting but lose the rebounding, assists and defense.
It isn't going to happen but even in fantasy senario I don't know that you would want it to.

Sully you are usually spot on, but most people think Kidd is having one of his best seasons ever.

Our other backcourt would be Rondo and House. House plays the two alot anyway.

Chicago Incoming

Memphis Incoming
Nocioni
Ty Thomas
Ben Gordon

Ray Allen
Kyle Lowry
so chicago does this to end up with..no bench and a pg rotation of kyle lowry and chris duhon??O_O
not to mention boston ends up with uh..eddie house starting sg?
kidd would probably be a better fit on this team than ray.
but kidd is not going to fall out of the sky and we can't afford to give much more than allen for kidd straight up, allen+pruitt, allen+powe or allen+scala
