When KG and Allen get back, where do you see Powe fitting in and what his production will be?

I ask because Varejao went down for my fantasy team and i need someone off the wire in a deep league and i know if he can see 20-25 minutes a game, he can be a 10-8 type guy.

First, try to estimate his minutes.

Celtics Rotation:

Center: Perkins 25 / Garnett 11 / Pollard or Davis or Powe 12

Power Forward: Garnett 24 / Posey 12 / Scalabrine or Davis or Powe 12

So, IF EVERYONE IS AVAILABLE,

Powe competes with Davis & Scal for 12 minutes as a backup PF;

and also competes with Pollard (when available) & Davis for 12 minutes at center.

Right now, they get some extra minutes with Garnett out, and Pollard recovering from an ankle.

So, Davis & Powe compete for 12 minutes as a backup center. Maybe 24 more if Garnett skips the Dallas game. I think it depends on who is playing well.

Ditto the PF situation.

Powe is a great third stringer, really not a second stringer based on offense, but he's smart, quick, rebounds, and knows his role. Still, on any team without the big 3, he's probably not a second stringer.

But the same can be said of Davis and Scalabrine.

They are all GREAT third stringer.

None are starters, due to limitations in their game.

Occasionally each is capable of a good outing to justify time as a backup, but none are consistent enough to depend on. That is why Doc gives 'em a try, and pulls them when they're not working out, and looks for a guy who is on between the three of them.

he looked good against the miami heat and mark blount. He had career highs. That should be all you need to know. Most of the backup PF minutes on the team actually seem to be going to Posey, so really there is not much to go around when KG returns. Look around there have to be some bigs stringing together good games that you'd like.

Leon was getting minutes before Kevin went down, you could do worse finding a sub for Varejao.

I love Powe, but he won't be getting that many minutes once KG comes back. Unless he is traded to the Clips or somewhere.
