I just want to know why the United States Congress chooses to get involved, it makes absolutely no sense, I mean who gives a **** if Clemens did roids or not how the hell is that affecting America?

It's because he's lying and stonewalling the investigation. If he had admitted this from the beginning then there would be no need for Congress to get involved.

why should there even be a Police investigation in the first place? is it really necessary for the Government to spend money trying to find out if Clemens did roids? Seriously, the usage of performance enhancing drugs happens all over the place, if the player can do it without getting caught while he's doing it then the MLB should be at fault not Clemens. Having the congress and government get involved with something that's happening in baseball is stupid.

Congressmen want to be on TV and in limelight. No other reason. Yeah, Clemens shouldn't take PED, like everyone else, but in case we forgot, there is a war going on. There is absolutely no reason to spend Congress' time and money on this garbage. No wonder we have no credibility around the world.

I think we need to review the facts here. There was never a police investigation. There was the Mitchell investigation which was an independent inquiry paid for in full by MLB. That cost about $20mil and was picked up by the MLB owners. This hearing is not costing tax payers any more money. These congressmen are on Capital Hill anyway so it doesn't cost extra money to hold a hearing. If anything, the american tax payers are getting their money's worth for all of those salaries in congress. Personally I'd much rather have them spending time on this then having the congressmen sit on their asses schmoozing with lobbiests and special interest groups.

Again, if Clemens had just admitted to it like Pettite, Knoblach, Giambi, etc, this never would have happened. If anything, the American public is pretty forgiving. People are actually heralding Pettite for telling the truth. That's what Roger should have done. He's just digging his own grave now.

It's because MLB wants to come clean and move on focusing on what's important to them, baseball. Most players named in the Mitchell report admitted to their use but Roger did not. Now there was overwhelming evidence to support that Roger did in fact use PED's. If he just admitted from the beginning then we all could of moved on. Since he lied, he's going to get dragged through this BS. I promise he will be indicted for perjury after all is said and done. Roger is being stupid? Which would you rather have, not making it to the HoF or spending 6-12 months in jail? Roger is obviously choosing the later.

I think Roger Clemans has definatly paid his share of taxes unto the U.S. Government and to be honest I don't believe this started with Roger.

To be honest it is a known fact that the U.S. Gov. used L.S.D. in military experiments and in the C.I.A.

Is it a crime for the Gov to use drugs?

To be honest I would rather the tax money be used in an effort to help the people of the U.S. and get out of this state of depression where we are now.

I have a friend that is a investment consultant for Wells Fargo that has just been told he has less than 1 quarter left with the company as they will have to have a massive employee cutback.

Congress should indeed be doing other things as this is at the least of this countries worries at the moment. Might I add we still have many soldiers in Iraq. Who knows the needs of the soldiers in enemy territory that the people of the U.S. has no knowledge of.

I believe as long as the U.S. Congress are blowing time on this scandel they may also be putting our soldiers in danger.
