Old (and New) Celtics Games on DVD

Post#1 » by birnam » Wed Feb 13, 2008 8:06 pm

Hello All -- My hobby is collecting old Celtics games on tape and dvd. I have games going back to the 60's. Russell, Cousy, Havlicek, Cowens, Bird, etc. I have also decided to collect all of the games from this historic season, and thus far have captured every game on dvd.
Here are a few of the highlights of my collection:

.....A couple of Russell vs Wilt games

.....The entire championship Finals series from 1976, 1981, 1984, 1986

.....Numerous Bird college games

.....The classic Bird vs Dr J 7 game series, 1981

.....Bird's 60 point game

.....Many great games from the 1985-86 regular season, the greatest basketball team of all time

....."The Steal" vs Isiah and the Pistons, Game 5, 1987

.....The famous Bird-Dominique 4th quarter shootout, Game 7, 1988

.....Every game from this current excellent season

.....Many more

Does anyone else share this interest? Anyone have any old tapes stashed away in the attic? If so, I would like to hear from you, please e-mail me. I am always looking to acquire more games from early in Bird's career.

Thanks, Birn

damn Birnam what could I do to get a copy of a Russell Wilt game? I have a few games but mostly just the ones from the Larry Bird DVD and The Celtics History DVD's. I have always wondered why the NBA does not realease older games of the legendary C's I would definitely buy into that.
