NY/Bos trade idea

Post#1 » by kakopedi1 » Thu Feb 14, 2008 12:53 am

To NY
Perkins, Scal, TAllen, Pollard& BigBaby

To Boston
Curry & Lee

For NY they cut salary(Curry) and good cheap defensive players in Perk, TAllen & Baby.

For Boston, Curry & Lee would great next to KG.

The Celtics woudn't even give Scalabrine for Curry (unless, of course, the Knicks send money considerations to pay for the extra hamburgers).

Wow. No.

Allen gives us really good wing defense. Perk gives us interior defense. Baby is a good backup big who takes up space and just played excellent d on Duncan.

Curry is terrible. Lee is good. But we lose depth here and disrupt the team.

Knicks wouldn't do that, and I don't think it work would great for Boston either.

On offense, our star players will get the ball. On defense, everyone's important. We can't afford to sacrifice our defense for some offense-oriented players who won't even see the ball.

I am not familiar with those Knicks but I believe Gabe Pruitt is the player that can make them a better team. They need a decent big point guard. I wouldn't trade him for Nate Robinson.

Talent wise, it would be an upgrade for the Celtics Frontcourt.

Would it make the Celtics a better team? I doubt it.

Celtics currently IMO cant fnd enough shoots for Allen, Garnett and Pierce, but if you add Curry ( who only true asset is scoring ) these number will go down.

I love Lee, I think he would fit in fine here.

I think you give up way too much defensively to do this deal.

Plus I think we will have the same issue that the Knicks have, too many good players who think they should be the number 1 option and not enough role players.

After this deal, I would beleive though the Celtics condensed their 5 good role players into 2 excellent front court players, that the Celtics winning percentage would go down and the Knicks winning percentage would increase because the Knicks would receive 5 players who would not need the ball as much and allow Randolph, Crawford, etc do there thing.

Oh God, no. Awful deal. We like defense, let's keep it that way. Curry and Lee are both awful defenders/

Absolutelly not, we're not trading our players to the worst team in the league/our rivals/people in the same division.
Does anyone actually believe that either Mike Brown or Doc Rivers have done any coaching during the series, or in their undistinguished careers?

Wow. Thats an overwhelming NO from most/all posters, and I guess understandbly so, we lose our defense but gain Rebounds and better post offense from Curry.

I LOVE our team as is, but I wanted to see what you guys thought of a KG/Curry/Lee/Powe frontline. I dont think it would've been all that bad, esp if we pick a vet pg like Cassell.

I thought for sure you were a Knicks fan.

Curry is the ultimate 'should be player'. Too bad he just isn't.
