LOL, that's hilarious. Nobody called West the PG of the future. He was what he was, a solid backup. People WERE calling Banks that when he was drafted in the LOTTERY, but we all know how that worked out.... he's a backup too....

And as far as Rondo goes. He is excellent, just like others have said he'd become. Proving the doubters wrong... he can't pass, he can't defend, he can't shoot, he can't finish... lol.... riiiiight....

He can only get better, IMO.

I remember writing on the board that Marcus Banks sucked and people got all over me for it. I said the truth that his decision making after driving the lane was horrible.

I keep forgetting that he still hasn't turn 22 yet. I think his Bday is the 22nd of this month. Hopefully he can continue to improve.

Oh, me too. I just can't see how Pete calls us "dense" for not seeing that D. West sucks, and that Banks is good in comparison.

Now I like Rondo as much as anyone, but we all sometimes need to take a step back and look at him more objectively.

Rondo has been put in an amazing position where almost any NBA-level PG could flourish. He has weapons everywhere, and isn't needed to be anything more than a steady hand. He still needs to work on his shooting considerably, especially from the FT line. It would be huge for us if he could become a serious 3-point threat. His defense against bigger guards is sometimes struggles.

I like the kid, but he has plenty of room to grow. Luckily for us, the signs point to him achieving his potential.

is rondo emulating pistol pete ?

I don't know if rondo is aware of him. I caught him at the end of his career so didn't really get to see him in his prime but seen video. there was just a thing on inside nba on him and I noticed rondo is doing that fake behind the back/hold and shoot move like rondo does.

its fun watching rondo pull those moves.

I actually liked Kenny Anderson; although I wouldn't have called him the PG of the future when we had him. He was a pretty established vet past his prime when we got him, much like Gary Payton.

Kenny Anderson was, and always will be my boy.

I've been thinking the same thing since the first Detroit game, when he schooled Rasheed Wallace with that ball fake and turn around off the glass. I was at the game, and right after it happened, I said "wow, that was like the Maravich." He does seem to be adding a number of Pistol Pete's moves - those around the back fakes and hesitations are making people jump out of their shoes. I can't wait until his jumpshot starts falling with regularity. I really believe it's only a matter of time now. Rondo has me totally convinced.

Also - guyclinch, way to derail a thread. Gotta hand it to you, your perseverance holding onto a grudge that no longer applies to the current team is really spectacular. Keep up the good work man.
