Lue Boston bound?

Sac Bee - "Yet Lue might not be long for Sacramento, as he has been pursued by Phoenix and Boston and could be used in any subsequent deals before Thursday's trade deadline. "

Anyone have any thoughts on this? It's to my understanding that Lue has a decent relationship with Rivers, and that we inquired about him earlier this year...what would we give up?

Not really sure. I know Lue is one of KGs Best friends. I was hoping we would be going after Anthony Johnson over Lue though.

I don't want that towel waving P.O.S. on our team ever.

He's too short. No Thanks.

Yeah. All these guys we could get have huge flaws, thats the problem. With all the flaws, you wonder if there is anyone out there who is actually a better backup PG than Eddie House. I'm thinking no.

Honestly, I think the best option out there might be Randy Livingston, the D-League MVP and former NBA vet...

If you're just looking for a guy who can maintain the tempo when Rondo's out and won't make mistakes, Lue is good. You can get away with a lot when you have this roster. All a guy has got to do is play his role.

What we need is a 7 footer.

Not happening now, maybe in the off-season. I doubt we would go after him and not wait and see what happens to Cassell first.

Also, this is nothing but speculation. It isn't even certain we would sign him if he was bought out, let alone trade for him. There is just no possibility we do a trade.

The only way we could acquite Lue is giving them Scal, and I'm sure Sacramento doesn't want him. He is also injured. Maybe we did pursue Lue at some point before the season, but there is absolutely no truth to this rumor.

I'd be happy with Lue. He can dribble the ball, which isn't one of House's strengths. Knocks down some big 3's, too. Not to mention the speed.

Only problem is defense against larger PGs. Which is pretty much everyone, considering how small Lue be.

I'd rather have Johnson but Lue would be good.

Well Cassell has gotta know this is going on if it's on the verge and the only way we have a shot at Sam is if he forces a buyout. It's Feb. 18th now, so not like we have a lot of time to wait on Sam. We're making a choice soon as all of the options we could possibly have are becoming final in the next week or two.

As of right now, if Cassell isn't waived before March 1 and we can't get Johnson or Lue, Danny will probably go with Payton.

no to lue. he is a sg in a pg body - and a chucker with no D.

Lets get a good defending pass first PG or a 7 footer since Pollard/Perk/Scal/KG/Baby are all sorta injured.

Lue sucks. Now if Darrell Armstrong(another guy who Doc loves) becomes available in the aftermath of the Dallas-NJ dealings, we should definitely pick him up.

I am in complete agreement

Lue's D is actually not that bad at all. In a system like ours where the team defense is good he would be just fine imo. He's not lazy on D at all he just has limited physical gifts, but we can help cover that up with our rotations and just a good team defense in general.

My point on Cassell though is he knows it's getting to crunch time for getting bought out and that more and more options for us are starting to become available too. He'll either be bought out very soon, because he'll put pressure on it and/or accept less money, or he's not really an option for us at all.

Didn't Lue come last (or near last) in a lot of player evaluations for last season.

Pogue?

I like Lue, but there's several better candidates for you guys ahead of him. Cassell, Payton, and Livingston are good choices to pursue before Lue.

Cassell is not available as of now (but should be soon), and Livingston has little NBA experience. If neither Cassell nor Lue/Johnson become available, I think we will sign Payton.

I am ok with him. He is such a hard-nosed player like Eddie House.
