Not much info about it, but I'd certainly like to see west get a chance to play some minutes and be on a playoff team.

yeah, like in boston

looks like they're not buying him out, but trading him

so that kind of rules us out

It'd be Wafer/Diawara/1st rounder for West/2nd rounder.

Apparently it's already a done deal if the Nuggets want it, but they're still trying to see if they can get Mike Miller before pulling the trigger on this West deal.

Wow. Good deal for the Sonics. They get a 1st rounder for a guy they barely use. Not bad.

More like a pick swap. Essentially like trading the nuggets 1st for the celts 1st.

Don't know much about Diawara and Von Wafer, but if they're nothing other than trade filler, then I would say it's not a good trade for the Sonics.

I like the trade for denver. West fits well alongside AI since he can play the 1 on offense and the 2 on defense. Wafer and Diawara are scrubs to match salary so essentially denver is moving down from a late first to an early second and getting a guy that could be a starter for them.

yeah i think it would be a great move for the Nuggz if he went to Denver. West and AI would make an excellent backcourt....that and if they get artest as well, they would have either a really nice 6th man in delonte or a GREAT smallball lineup if they choose to start Iverson/West/Artest/Melo/Camby

but those are some serious ifs, we'll re-assess if it ever gets that far.

All they need is Larry Hughes next and they'd have 90% of the tattoos in the league!

West is a nightly DNP-CD when Watson and Ridnour are healthy. The Sonics failed to pick up West's option for next season. A bag of new Spauldings would be a good trade for the Sonics as they will receive nothing for him after the trade deadline.

Denver is hurting badly in the backcourt. Anthony Carter is playing 30+ minutes per game and they have nobody behind him. West provides some cheap insurance since the Nuggets have little flexibility in adding anyone better. Then West will likely move again next season and the season after and then the season after that. This is what bench fodder journeymen do, just ask Eddie "8 teams in 8 years" House.

Highway robbery for the Sonics - but I guess the Nuggets are in a bad spot right now and have championship dreams. People will look back on this trade though and cringe.

Sonics fans have been disappointed by Delonte. Not sure what's changed about his game, but they say he was overhyped by C's fans.

I was at the Key Arena in Seattle for the Dec. 27 game vs the Celtics, and Sonics fans surrounding me didn't really seemed disappointed (at least at the time). They actually seemed to love Delonte (who had a great game, by the way).

Just wondering what's Celtics fans take on West - AI backourt?

Thanks.

I think Delonte would be the perfect compliment for AI. As someone said earlier, Delonte can play PG on offense and guard the SG on defense with AI doing the opposite. He's plays balls to the wall all the time, is a solid defender (expecially from a team stand point), and can knock down the open shot. AI is going to love playing with DWest.

I'm also happy Delonte is getting another shot to make it with a competitive team. Seattle was just a horrible situation for him. Hell, they don't have a clue as to what they're doing over there and it looks like they won't even be in Seattle next year. I'd be so pissed if I was a Sonics fan.

Actually the impression I've gotten from Sonic fans is that they think Delonte should be playing a lot more then he has been, and they are disappointed that he hasn't been playing.

It's too bad Seattle is losing their franchise. Clearly they have some intelligent fans.
