Raptors fan here: Question about KG's injury

Hey guys.. TJ Ford just went down with an abdominal strain. Although initial reports say that its a minor strain and he is not expected to miss any games, I wanted to know what was the initial/early diagnosis on KG's abdominal strain? Did the team officials say it was minor or did they outright said that it will take a bit of time to get better?
Just wanted to get a clear picture by comparing the two injuries..

They said it would take a bit of time to get better.

He was listed as day-to-day, but two days later they said he'd be out for a while.

Apparently it's a nagging injury. The Celtics could afford to keep KG out an unnecessary amount of time to just make sure it was fully healed. The Raptors will probably do the same with TJ.

Yeah way to report false information. P2 has it right. They originally thought he would only miss a game or so but that changed really quickly after the Magic game. I think the coaching/training staff thought it would be better to rest in the middle of the season rather than risk reaggrevating the injury. I believe this was the same injury that ended Jerry West's career so it can be career threatening if not taken seriously which the Celtics did in resting KG for almost a month.
