KG-Rondo combo

Yesterday`s game showed again why KG and Rondo just aren`t the best fit. When KG is in the game our offense goes through him and that takes away from Rondo`s strengths.

With Garnett out Rajon is handling the ball more, he has the opportunity to create for himself and others and his speed really turns into a weapon.

But when KG initiates the offense Rondo is basically a jump shooting PG, which is obviously not his forte. Considering their strengths and what they like to do on the floor KG and RR just don`t compliment eachother very well on offensive end.

I would like to see more House at PG when KG is in the game and more Rondo when KG is out. House is basically useless if he can`t make threes (like in the last couple of games) and his skill set compliments Garnett`s much better than Rondo.

That is why bringing in someone like Cassell is vital, IMO. He is a perfect fit at PG for the way this team plays when KG is in the game. If we manage to add Sam I expect to see quite a drop in Rajon˙s minutes in the playoffs in favour of Cassell not just because of his experience but also because our offense would be more efficient with him on the floor.

I love Rajon`s game but it is frustrating to see how non-aggressive he is on offense when paired with KG. It is like watching a different player. I would really like to see a little more variety in our offensive scheme which would allow Rondo to handle the ball more and play to his strengths even in half court situations...Now, I have a feeling we just aren`t maximizing our potential...

I don't disagree that they haven't been a perfect fit , but I feel this is actually an area that can be remedied by adding certain kinds of plays into the playbook, specifically rondo cutting to the hole more and recieving passes from Kg. WE don't necessarily need a diffeerent type of player to fix this problem.

But don't forget, Doc has been giving Ray the ball more recently (in a fairly successful attempt to get him going early) and that is taking Rondo out of the loop more than the return of KG.
