C's really need this one. We need to end this painful streak. Ray Allen should take advantage of the mismatch if he's playing Jack. Unlike the last game Paul or Ray has to play good...right? RIGHT?
Portland's a great young team so this should be a good one. They would probably be a top 5 team in the east.

I really don't know. The last time we lost two in a row, we had Portland as our next opponent. Same thing here. But why do we always need a struggling team for a win? Why can't we lose three straight and then come out and blast Detroit?

Since Big44's been out, we're 0-3 , hmm ...

Just like pretty much every other team in the west.

Can you really blame the Celtics for not having a formidable opponent after losing 2+ straight? This is truly the sign of somebody literally SEEKING a negative, that really isn't even there. Give it a rest son.
EDIT: It's like, "yeah the C's need to prove to us they can blow out the team with the second best record in the league after losing 2 straight to very good teams!"
You can spin negative scenarios out of anything.

So P2, the ideal situation for you is for us to lose out the rest of the season? That way we can never follow up a loss with a good win. Seems reasonable..

I want the win. But then we have to win the next 5, as well, if we want to be called a "contender".

We are a contender already, regardless of what they call us.

What if we lose to one team in the 5 game stretch, but beat Detroit?

Then we are the Beasts of the East. I would rather lose to Portland and win against Detroit than winning against struggling teams and losing to the elite ones.

So one game turns the Celtics from not being championship contender to beasts of the east? And if we lose we should just tank for Beasley?

No, for Rose.

almost, the Kings who are currently 6 1/2 games out of the playoffs would have the 6th seed in the east.

P2. I've got the impression that gloom and glory are too close together for you. You started the season with self-indulgance towards other fans/boards, and you're now razzing your own board with prayer for upcoming disaster.
Keep the distance, mate.

So you guys think we're good? The Pistons are blowing out the Suns by 31 points with 3 minutes to go in the 3rd. Now that is good!

The Suns are .516 against Western Conference teams. The Celtics are .842. Now
that is impressive!

Oh my goodness! And they lost to the Knicks by 25, and the Celts beat the Knicks by 18! Who the hell gives a ****? Teams play different on a game-to-game basis. Let it go. You're reaching so hard to bring the team down right now.

I'd give you a virtual pat on the behind if I could. Sure we could use another big and vet point, but some people are overreacting a bit because of the losing streak.
