Walker's agent is trying to get him on a playoff team. I guess he's getting bought out.

So sad that a "veteran All-Star" has fallen so quickly.

Good for him. Keep him away from the Celtics. He sucks.

Can't really blame a vet player wanting to play for a playoff team. Too bad for Walker is that he really sucks and I can't imagine any playoff team wanting him.

I say we sign Walker. He would be a solid addition off the bench. Last time we got him we went on a long winning streak.
Perkins/Baby/Pollard
KG/Walker/Powe
Pierce/Posey/Scala
R.Allen/T.Allen/House
Rondo/Cassell/Pruitt

It's funny that people would like to sign PJ Brown and Jamal Magloire, but then act like signing Walker is the worst idea ever.
If used properly, Walker can be useful. He has something that not a lot of 6"9, 6"10 guys have and that's talent. He is a talented basketball player, with playoff experience.
He would be an upgrade over Scalabrine. No doubt.
Don't forget that Walker has a ring, has played with Pierce and Posey and of course is familiar with the Celtics organization. Crazier ideas have been proposed.
If worst comes to worst, I'd like to sign Walker. He would give us another threat on the floor, and I think that he could play with Rondo, Allen, Pierce and Garnett. That would be a pretty dangerous combo. Walker would be good for 15-20 minutes per game. And I think he'll gracefully accept that role.

Walker pretty much won one of the finals games for the Heat, but even still I would be wary of bringing him back.

I would avoid Walker at all costs.

Walker to Boston threads are like the McRib. You know they'll inevitably return after a while, you get excited for a while, then you take a bite and remember they taste like shi'ite. He SHOULD NOT play over Posey, Powe, or Davis, so where the heck is he getting his minutes?
I can't feel bad for the guy. He became a lard@$$ and went out of his way to bash Danny every chance he got, even after he helped him land in Miami.
Karma's a beeyotch.

I think it was yesterday that I read that Walker was not happy in Minny but that a buyout was out of the question.

No it's true, Walker is done.
He's in a 20 mpg role for MINN right now, and he's shooting 36%.
It'd be real hard to tell whoe's better him or Scalabrine.
It's really sad because he so badly wanted to win while he was here but he can no longer contribute to us even though he would want too.

Why would Minnesota buy him out when he would be a valuable trade assest with an expiring contract next year.
Oh yeah forget Kevin McHale is the GM.

I'm with Ainge in liking the team AS IS.
Brent Barry or Sam Cassell. Try to bring in one of those players and then leave everything else as it already is.
Walker had his run here. We don't need him. I would rather Powe and Davis get those PF and C minutes. Antoine only knows how to play one way and that's by jacking up threes and ruining momentum. He does not and will not stay down low and do what we need. He just doesn't play that way.
The guy could have been a hall of famer if he just stayed down low. He had great hands, good post moves, and a knack for getting to the line. He was a very good rebounder in his prime too. But he's obsessed with being a "point forward" which he's not. That was his downfall and the reason I don't want any part of him coming back this season.
Unless he really, truely, honestly changes. Which i doubt

He wouldn't have a role on this team. We need a quality backup Pg and some added beef on the interior. As much as I liked it the last time he was brought back it simply wouldn't serve any purpose this time.

Here's what I was talking about:
Antoine Walker, who has approximately $9 million coming to him next season - though probably not all from the Timberwolves team that currently employs the dismayed ex-Celtic - has made it known that he won

Ainge would sooner dip his balls in a bucket of battery acid than bring Walker back here.
