Kevin Garnett's brother-in-law, the famed R&B producer/songwriter Jimmy Jam, was planning on attending last night's game. The two are related by marriage

You think? :wizard:

Technically if you want to be nick picky it should say "the two are related through their marriages". then again thats basically the same thing.

Kevin Garnett's brother-in-law, the famed R&B producer/songwriter Jimmy Jam, was planning on attending last night's game. The two are related by marriage; Garnett's wife and Jimmy Jam's wife are sisters.

Edit: fair enough, its not really a mistake, its redundancy, but thats what you were probably getting at. It could have been worded better to not be redundant.

JiriMania, if they are brothers-in-law, how can they not be related by marriage?

I think its just crappy wording, what the writer meant to say was...

They are related through their seperate marriages. But that is his point.

no hard feelings, i'm just bored with a slow celtics board.

I really don't see how you guys are getting caught up on redundancy yet are glossing over these two nuggets from the same article

Cassell's $6.15 million deal ends this season, and he is not in their plans for 20 9.

And further down

"But as of now, I'm still a member of esterday's shootaround.

First off, I have read about the 209 season when Publius Septimius Geta, his father Serverus and his brother Caracalla took home the title. Perhaps I need to brush up on my Roman history or maybe the Globe meant 2009.

Secondly, did Cassell really leave the "Y" off of "yesterday" or did Peter May not run the piece through spell check before submitting it?

LOL. These kinds of things happen in all kinds of publications these days, which is why I called it "Funny" rather than, say, "The Globe Sux Idiotically Again!"

No No no.

Cassell was talking about Esther Day's shoot around. Ms. Day is a big basketball fan.
